Please stop forcing features on our forum that we don't want
The most annoying feature for me is having "Notify me when a reply is posted" enabled by default. Most forum administrators don't want this enabled by default and most users don't want to be emailed after making a post. Users may also be confused as to how to turn it off or go through the effort of doing so. The default setting is irritating and unnecessary.
Another unwanted feature "Report an abuse." I don't want this in my footer and I am not permitted to remove it with credits or otherwise. The spam reports may also be problematic.
Finally, avatars are forced on my forum. I would like the option to disable avatars for all users or certain user groups.
These issues have been raised multiple times on this support forum. Given these problems (mostly #1 and #3), I probably won't be using forumotion as a forum host.

Re: Please stop forcing features on our forum that we don't want
Hello Guest001
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree as issue #1 is rarely brought up and can be disabled via profile for each user. Its clearly marked and if anyone has any experience with forums then they'll know where to look and even if they don't then a PM to a mod or admin would give this information or common sense would lead to check the profiles.
#2 We are aware that spam can occur but unfortunately at this time we don't allow uses to remove this option. They can be easily ignored as they're not official warnings but its away of allowing users to provide feedback or point out possible issues. It can be both valuable and also problematic.
#3 Honestly we've had little complaints about users being able to display avatars and having no mass restriction on it other than individual restriction. I can understand why you might find it frustrating that we don't have this option but as I've said we've had little complaints about this. I think it could be hidden via coding so members can see the options, I'm not sure though, You should consider opening up a topic in scripts and coding.
