Hello, I'm one of the senior admins for Hogwarts Golden Age, and one of our members frequently is abusive and aggressive, usually I'd ban the IP, but the user changes it and reports us frequently, what can we do?

Hello,

Unforantelly all you can do is keep banning his accounts, email addresses and pms. He is probably using a proxy server and the ips arent even real. He will get tired eventually if you keep banning all of the above.

Thanks JS and Brandon, my worry is that if the user continues this path, the site will be closed, and although we are new, we've put a lot of effort into the site

Hello,

What exactly do you mean by closed? By you guys? By Forumotion? If by Forumotion, dont worry, if you delete his posts and ban his accounts, you'll be fine. Every site gets a troll sometime, all you can do is deal with as best as you can, which you are.

Yeah by forum, so if we delete the lot, ban all accounts and IP we'll be okay?

Yeah, keep banning his email addresses, accounts, ips and delete all posts by them. They will get tired eventually and just leave your forum alone. Very Happy

Just keep at it, eventually they will have had enough and be tired out and just leave.

Also I would not interact with the person, like reply to pm's or emails, reply to his/hers posts on your forum or other sites, etc.
