Post by Cineworks September 11th 2015, 12:27 am

I'm setting up a forum and I'd like to make it easy for users to insert images in their posts.

The normal method of uploading images to one site, creating URL, and then copying the link into your forum post will discourage too many people from participating.

So I'm willing to pay for credits so that the images can be directly uploaded and stored at the forum.

But it doesn't appear to be that easy.

Is there a way to bypass that cut-and-paste associated with the "Host an Image" button?

Thanks,

Hello,

You could host the image on another image host. Either way, you will likely have to copy and paste no matter what.

I feel it doesnt courage many users at all. Almost everyone knows how to copy and paste. You could also write a tutorial on how to add a photo to a post.

Hope this helps,

-Brandon

Thanks for the super quick responses.

It's never as easy as you think it should be. But that's life.

P.s Trust me when me I say it won't discourage people as much as you think, I run a Broadcastinf Forum with the most non forum familar members in the world. I have my work cut out for me, but with the help of a few carefully and explaintivilly written tutorials, they all figure it out sooner or later Very Happy.

Yeah, you're probably right.

On a related topic...

What sites do you guys use to host photos that you plan to link to in forums?

I've always used Photobucket because it provides links in several formats. But I need to set up a new account and am wondering if there's a better free site out there.
