Solved Re: Word Size Problems

Post by Kira Yuudai October 9th 2015, 2:53 am

Well, it seems the max font size I can make anything is 24.

I believe we used to be able to make the size higher than that and now whenever I try to make it a bigger size than 24, it comes up like:

[size=36]TEST[/size]

However, when I am in preview mode it comes up properly. Only when I post it does it become weird.

Do you mean here on the support forum ? or on your forum ?

It's happening on both.

TEST
Code:
[size=24]TEST[/size]

[size=36]TEST[/size]

I have done the same coding for both yet only the 24 one works on both this and the site but whenever I go into preview mode, the 36 size comes up proper and once I post it, it does not come up properly.

I've test it on my forum and it seems the max size for the font is 29, probably the new limit implemented by Forumotion.

Hmm, is there any way to get a bigger size than 29 or no?

Hello,

If there is indeed a new limitation that makes it so font can't be over a certain size, then no it is not possible to change this. I am not entirely sure if this is indeed a limitation or not, however, I can try and look into it for you if you like?

Hi @Kira Yuudai,

One of my colleagues has informed me, that there is a limitation on font sizes using BBCode, however, if you genuinely want to use larger font sizes, a code should be able to be developed that could allow for unlimited sizes. If you would like to go that route, then just let us and maybe @Ange Tuteur can help you in getting that code.

It shouldn't be too big of a deal I suppose but just in case, I would appreciate that.

Solved Re: Word Size Problems

Post by brandon_g October 9th 2015, 6:31 pm

If you want to go that route, Ange left me the code to give to you just in case Wink.

Ok so install this Javascript in: ACP(Admin Control Panel) > Modules > HTML & JAVASCRIPT > Javascript codes management > Javascript codes management , click add new javascript.

Add the following Javascript in ALL pages:

Code:
$(function() {
  for (var post = $('.postbody'), i = 0, j = post.length; i < j; i++) {
    if (/\[size=\d+\].*?\[\/size\]/i.test(post[i].innerHTML)) post[i].innerHTML = post[i].innerHTML.replace(/\[size=(\d+)\](.*?)\[\/size\]/ig, '<span style="font-size:$1px">$2</span>');
  }
});

and hit save.

This should allow you to use any size font, however, please note that the code could also effect the resizer, any images resized using that method might not resize after the parse. It could also effect other font size bbcodes that do work.

The other way you could use bigger size is text is by using html tags instead of bbcode (note: html must be enabled in both the ACP and your profile to do it this way).

Hope this helps,
-Brandon
