Solved Error with "guest" translation

Post by Kami-sama October 5th 2015, 4:20 pm

Hello!

My forum language is Lithuanian. It is unicode language, meaning that there are some non standard characters used. Usually there are no problems with such characters used in usernames. The only problem accrues with the word "guest".

Word "guest" is translated to "svečias". That is correct and in most cases it is shown correct. Yet sometimes, mostly I noticed that in topic author and last post author, it is shown "sve?ias". I understand why that happens, but I wonder if this can be fixed? Or maybe it is already fixed and only left on old messages?

EDIT: also, I've noticed it mostly next deleted users messages.

Yeah it could be due to either a translation error or the system not realizing it should say 'guest' when users delete their account. Maybe @Buttercup can tell you if it has been fixed or not. In the meantime I would just edit the ones that are wrong.

You can't edit the default name for guest (atleast there is not a way or option that I know of), however, you can edit 'Guest' names indiviually. If you click to edit the post or topic, it will show 'Arthur' as 'Guest' or whatever, you can manually write in what you want that specific one to be.

Hope this helps,
-Brandon
