Solved Forum and banner width

Post by darki on October 14th 2015, 1:08 pm

Hi,

my banner/ header has the dimensions 1140px x 267px. In CSS stylesheet I added this:
Code:
#logo-desc{background-image:url(IMAGE URL);height:267px;width:1140px;margin:auto;}

To make the banner and forum width fit, I changed in ACP - General the forum width to px, in this case 1140px.
But I would like to have the forum width in %.

Is there a possibility that forum and banner width are fit with a percentage for forum width?

If you don't want the banner stretching the wrapper or overflowing it, the best solution would be to set a maximum width of 100% or slightly below that. That is :
Code:
#logo-desc { max-width:100% }

Then you can return the forum width back to a percentage.

@Ange Tuteur I changed width:1140px to max-width:100% and the forum width to a percentage.

Oh, you have it as a background image ? Add background-repeat:no-repeat; and if you want it centered add background-position:center;

@Ange Tuteur After adding this I have the problem that the image will "smaller" respectively cut by zooming in and by zooming out this happens:

It's not possible to prevent that, right?

That's bound to happen when using background images, but you can use the background-size property. For example :
Code:
#logo-desc {
  background-size:100% 100%;
}

First 100% refers to the width, the second refers to the height. You can use whatever measurement you prefer. Smile
