Solved Reducing area/spacing around banner

Post by Tattastic on October 15th 2015, 9:28 pm

Hello,

I am attempting to reduce the spacing/area around the edge of my banner. I basically want it 5px either side of it like the navigation bar below, so it is aligned with the nav bar (which is going above it once the site redesign is done).

As you will see in the below image the indent on the left hand side is bigger and is forcing the banner over the edge on the right hand side

Does anyone know how to set the spacing either side of the banner to 5px?

Thanks in advance for any help Smile

Solved Re: Reducing area/spacing around banner

Hi @Tattatic,

I believe the cause for the header image to overflow the wrapper is due to the image size being larger than the container. Have you tried setting a maximum width ? It should keep the image from overflowing the container like it is in your image.

This is the CSS :
Code:
#logo img {
  max-width:100%;
}

If that doesn't work, try a lower value such as 99%, and if that fails we can take a different approach. Wink

Thanks again for the quick response Cool , doing that has made it go like this...

So it has aligned the right hand side, but the the spacing on the left is still larger than 5px, any ideas?

Try adding this rule to see if it helps :
Code:
#logo-desc {
  margin:0 -5px 0 -5px;
}

It's supposed to move the container that holds the images to the left and right by 5px.
