Post by SkyGuide on October 27th 2015, 5:01 pm

Technical Details

Forum version : #phpBB2
Position : Founder
Concerned browser(s) : Google Chrome
Who the problem concerns : All members
When the problem appeared : After I logged onto the forum
Forum link : http://mafiaofoldschool.freeinvision.net/

Description of problem

I've noticed that the border line around a the avatar when you make a post has disappeared. Also, the border line has disappeared around the banners as well

Borderline is what centres around the banner in a rectangle. The whole borderline on my forum has completely disappeared. So, I deleted the codes and changed the forum theme around, but nothing worked. I went back with the codes I had previously from you guys. I don't know if its the coding that made an affect. However, I do recall having this problem when i tried to the insert the exact code for the "Avatar Design" and ended up with the same problem with the borderlines disappearing. Please help?

Hi @SkyGuide,

I made a test with the CSS from the forum you provided and it appears to be working okay :

How does it appear for you ?

Its still not working and I can't give you screenshot evidence at this moment, so I might need to show you link instead: http://mafiaofoldschool.freeinvision.net/

You see that the forum looks out of place without the border, and if you click onto a topic you will see that the avatar is missing the border line as well.

I see what the avatar problem is, try replacing the CSS with this :
Code:
.post .poster-profile a img, .post .poster-profile > center:first-child > img {
  background:#FFF;
  border-radius:100px;
  box-shadow:0 2px 3px rgba(0,0,0,0.1), 0 -1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.1);
  height:100px;
  padding:3px;
  width:100px;
}

As for the border, are you talking about the border on the forum wrapper ?

If you can see the avatar you would have notice there is no line a border around the avatar and the banners. If you mean to say the border on the forum wrapper is the problem I've explained, then I think we made start on figuring out the problem. Please help? The forum looks so out of place. Thanks! Smile

No, I was trying to figure out what you meant by the border, but I think I understand now. You want a border around the category banners on the index, correct ?

If so, this CSS should do the trick :
Code:
span.genmed img {
  border:1px solid #F00;
}
( You can also add a border to the image itself by editing it with a graphic program )

Change F00 to modify the color of the border.

Thanks for the code budd. It still doesn't solve the problem. The border line is what centres around the avatar and the banners and the rest of the forum. When I make a post or a comment you can clearly see that there is no line to separate the text along with the avatar. Click onto the link I gave you and then click onto the the topic you see and you will notice that both the avatar and text don't have their separate lines.

For example:

The line goes straight down, then turns left to finish off the line around the avatar.

Avatar/ the line /The text goes here

Same goes for around the banners. The line you made would go around the banner, then you will see "Topics" separated with a long line straight down and the same thing goes for "Posts" and "last posts." All column are separated from each other with what I call a border line.
