Post by Legionheart on November 5th 2015, 12:51 am

I got banned from a forum for no good reason. My name on the forum is Ratchet & Clank. I have a screenshot of this so im reporting this forum for unjust banning.

Solved Re: Issue with Someplace

Post by Ange Tuteur on November 5th 2015, 1:25 am

Hi @Demon Lord Sesshomaru,

I'm sorry, but there's nothing that we can do to help regarding this. If the admin / founder deems it necessary or doesn't want a particular user on their board, it is their right to ban / remove that user's account. My recommendation would be to take it up with the board staff, or find another forum that is more fair and professional.

But doesn't go against forumotion terms of service its not written in their rules to ban just cause you do like someone? They can get reported further to higher authorities right?

No, there is nothing in the forumotion terms of service that says anything about banning, a founder can ban a user on their site anytime they want for whatever reason they want, or even for no reason. This is not against Forumotion's TOU.

If the graphics are copyrighted, then you will need to send proof that you are the copyright holder as well the links to where they are used in a litigation report.

Overall, in my personal opinion, it just sounds like a forum with an owner that is unfair, therefore the forum is not really worth the effort of worrying over, I would just forget about if all together and move on. Wink

Your welcome!

By the way, just in case you didn't know already, you can find and read forumotion's TOU in its entirety here: http://www.forumotion.com/terms-of-service and you declare a litigation against a forum here: http://www.forumotion.com/terms-of-service . Wink

So they can ban you for whatever reason? Even if its a stupid one? Regarding your question, @Demon Lord Sesshomaru have you tried contacting the Owner by E-Mail and tell him that your ban was unneeded?

Yes @Akati a founder can ban anyone anytime for whatever reason they want, regardless of the reason and even if there is no reason. It's the founders forum, he can do what he wants with it, as long as it is within the forumotion TOU and there is nothing in the forumotion TOU that says anything about bans.

@brandon_g

I just wanted you know that Terms of Service is TOS, not TOU.

Well TOS (Terms of service) and TOU (Terms of use) are pretty much the same thing, if you are using the service, you have to agree to the terms of use/terms of service. On my forum, I call it the TOU, so by habit I put TOU here as well Razz.
