In progress How to Undo something on the Admin-Panel

Post by Just Call me Vlad December 2nd 2015, 7:56 am

So apparently, we had this skin/theme for a while, and we uploaded some cool CSS codes and everything. I wanted to spice it up a bit because it looked, bleh, to me after a while.

I changed the theme, but what I found out was that it reset the CSS codes that we worked so hard on.

Is there like an undo-button to it? Because half of our hard-work and dedication was just deleted just because of a simple theme change.

Hey there!
Try this:
Administration Panel ==> Display Tab ==> Skins ==> Themes Management

Go down to the third option, "Restore" and select the drop down menu to an older date when that theme was up. If the theme is recoverable from any available dates, you can copy and paste the CSS into a notepad or something to save your codes.

There are different dates, but for some reason all the skins are the same on the Skin-Preview

EDIT: It worked for a min but then it changed back to the messed up theme. And when I try doing it again, it says Error Code 400 or something

Hi,

Access this page: https://www.forumotion.com/utils

Make a rollback to the previous theme. This should work. Wink

I do not see any issues with the theme.  Could you post a screenshot showing the issues?

Hi,

If you're not the founder, then you must follow what @Leah7 said. Oddly, cleaning your browsers cookies and cache should make it work. Especially if you switched computers. Razz As far as I can tell, your forum is making way too many requests at a single time. Whenever that happens, server security measures take place and block you from accessing your forum.

Besides, your forum takes a very long time to load, has a JS Syntax error in 99080.js... Since there's a preview from your forum in an iframe in the Admin CP, wait until the page loads completely. Wait a few more seconds and then make the rollback using the method that Leah posted. That way, the error should not occur.

Regards.

About the maintence error 500, Forumotion was having some problems with something on their end that was causing this issue, we (the staff) have not recieved an update since on the status of this issue. Just wanted to let you know that much was not your end. Smile

The theme isn't the problem, the problem is why and how do I get back the CSS codes I had on the previous theme?

Also, Brandon, do you know when the Maintenance Error 500 will be fixed?

I don't know, our pro admin @Buttercup informed us (the staff) of the problem yesterday but said she had no further info at that time. There has been no update since Sad.

It looks to me that the member made a change to the forum and lost the CSS files when they made the change...

If you added a new theme to your forum the CSS files will be the ones that come with the skin
What you need to do is go to your backup on the forum Utilities Back your forum up to the newest date... Then when your forum is backed up save the CSS files in say Notepad then reinstall your forum to your new skin

Now you will have a copy of your CSS files from your old skin to make the change you want.

Other than that there is no other way to get back any CSS files you may have lost as we do not backup them on there own on our servers Sorry
