I have been meaning to get back here on this for months . I am sure there is a way to do a partial quote in these forums but I haven't figured it out yet . In other forums one would highlight the sentence or the portion of the text that one wants to quote . Then click quote and the highlighted quote becomes the quote . And you then reply under the box .

In my forum that does not occur . It quotes the entire message . I have always just deleted all the rest of what I didn't want in the quote .

Please enlighten me of the proper way to partial quote in these forums .

Thank you .

It is not possible to do this with the default settings.  The only way is manually editing the quote.  Or highlighting the part you want and using the quote button in the editor.

There could be a code.

What does that mean ? There could be a code . And am I to understand that partial quotes is not a feature available in these forums . That would sure explain my difficulties .

That brings up the quote button . I cannot seem to produce the author even though it says " Author ( optional )

as you can see from this example of a quote of yours .

Correct.  There is no partial quote feature on our forums.

When you press the quote button in the editor, you have to manually enter the username.

You're welcome.

I believe there are codes on other forums that you can use to achieve what you want.
