Change Settings So That Pending Members Have To Send Comment Before Acceptance?

Hello,

I am one of the three Admins at a new Forumotion forum.

I have been searching the Admin panel, trying to find a way of making new pending members send a message when they try to join the forum, so that the Admins can read their messages before accepting them. Is this possible?

Also, is it possible to allow Admins to have to accept all comments made by members before they show on the forum?

Unfornatelly, both of the things you mentioned are not possible, via the default options in the ACP (Admin panel), sorry .

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. There is absolutely no need to apologise.

Could you tell me what else I could do instead in order to protect my forum from bots or trolls? Are there other options in the Admin panel that you would suggest using?

Well you could make a profile field that says "Why do you want to register?" or whatever you want and set it so only admins can activate users.

Set the profile field to text zone and mark "profile" and mark "necessary filled". When they register you can choose whether to accept them and you can see what they wrote for the profile field by viewing their profile on your forum.
