Just while creating new forum edit users permissions for that forum. That's 2nd step. For example, users can't view forum, but mods can etc...

See this @Ange Tuteur's tutorial: http://help.forumotion.com/t138466-permissions Wink

There's only one way to do it.

Go to Groups tab at acp, create some groups and set their permissions...
You can have a lot of groups.

Acess will be given to everyone from that group.

2nd way is to edit user in admin cp (go to user profile -> edit in admin cp at bottom) and give him specific permissions. But it is working same way like groups Wink

You mean that or?

What part exactly you don't get?

And what you want?

You want to give permissions for something to specific user or group and put user in group? :/

Hello,

Do you mean you want only specific users or groups to see a specific section? If so, you just need to go to the section in question in the acp and tick only those users or groups that you want to see it. You can do this by going to ACP--General-->Catergories and forums--> Pick the section you want to be private-->Go to 'permissions' tab--> tick groups you want to be able to see it under can view and read.

Do you mean a private section meaning only a user and staff can see a user's topics, no else can, even if they view the section? If so, then I am afraid this is not possible using the default options in the acp. Sad
