Solved Re: Copy & paste Full WYSIWYG

Hello,

Are you copying from editor or from the post itself (by highlighting)? Are the posts your copying the same post or different? Did you accidently click any of the editor buttons when pasting this?

If you just highlighted the text from the post itself (via highlighting) then it shouldn't save the color or positioning, so I am surprised it has worked in method at all.

If you want it to be copied 100% correct all of the time, I would personally suggest trying to copying from the editor itself, even more then this though, to get 100% precise results, I would switch the editor manually to the standard editor mode (with the bbcode tags), this way you can copy the tags themselves, then paste them into another post (again preferably in standard editor mode), once this is done, if you want to switch back to the WYSIWYG editor mode you can do so. I would recommend doing the procedure I suggested above every time you wish to copy and paste an entire post with 100% precision and do it everytime.

The way you have been doing it is just really 'iffy', as to acheive a precision result you would have to manually go over everything using the editor buttons to make sure the text is properly centered and the text properly colored.

In the editor, when you try to copy it, are copying from what you see is what you get mode?

If so, I would recommend using the standard editor mode instead, you can switch to this by clicking the last icon in the editor, that looks like a piece of paper. When clicked, this will bring you to the standard editor mode, here you will see all bbocde tags and such, it may seem complicated, but bbcode is rather simple once you get used to it and I would strongly recommend learning this/getting used to this if your not already, as alot of forums use bbcode for just everything, from bold text to color and text alignment. Copying from this mode, with the bbcode, will allow for you to get 100% precise results all the time. Smile
