You can add the online icon by: Administration Panel > Display > Pics Management > Advanced > Buttons

You can add the online icon there. I modified to quote a bit as the navigation in the Administration Panel changed.

@Nera. wrote:Hi,

There is no option for the offline button in your AP.

The option for the offline button that is found in your AP is the offline button that appears on your profile in your friends managment.

Than you have to go to AP > Display > Templates > General > wievtopic_body template and find this:

Code:
{postrow.displayed.ONLINE_IMG}

Replace it with this:

Code:
<div class="ava">{postrow.displayed.POSTER_AVATAR}</div><span class="prfav">{postrow.displayed.ONLINE_IMG}</span>

Than go to AP > Display > Colors > CSS and add this in it:

Code:
.ava {
text-align: center;
}
.prfav {
display:block;
position: relative;
width: 87px;
height: 13px;
background: transparent url("http://i27.servimg.com/u/f27/14/67/67/89/kg13-515.png") no-repeat;
margin: -7px auto 0;
}
.prfav img {
display:block;
position: relative;
}

You can change the CSS and the margins until the button is set where you wont it.

That basiclly adds the offline button as your background so when user logges of the offline button/the background becomes visable.

For it tow work nicely your images must be the same obviusly.

I cant get into the templates and neither can the owner of the forum....the founder gave the group to the present owner but did not give her the info
for founder so now e can't do anything with templates....I can't understand why an Admin or owner can't see and/or change templates.

Only the founder account can see the templates. Make sure you are using the founder account and that the administration panel is in advanced mode.

When's the last time the founder logged on? Did the founder retire from the forum?

I believe you can private message a staff requesting to obtain access to the founder account or something similar since it has been over 6 months since she has visited.

Yes but if the person who she gave the forum to wants to have the ability to edit templates they will need to request a change in founder type of thing.

http://help.forumotion.com/t81878-recovery-or-change-founder-of-an-account

There is no other way that I know to add an offline icon except by using templates.

One of them should give you an answer soon as I have tagged them in this post. Try should be able to give you an answer on who to message. Smile

Hi @aprilshowers0923,

Since your forum is phpbb2 you'll have to make a small modification. Go to Admin Panel > Display > Templates > General and open the viewtopic_body template.

Find :
Code:
class="post post--{postrow.displayed.U_POST_ID}"

Replace by :
Code:
class="post {postrow.displayed.ONLINE_IMG_NEW} post--{postrow.displayed.U_POST_ID}"

Save and publish. Then follow this tutorial :
http://help.forumotion.com/t132631-phpbb3-invision-indicate-the-online-status-of-a-user-in-a-profile-field

FYI, if you want to use an image instead of text, just replace the respective texts in the table code for the profile field :
Online
Offline

Just to let you know. When you send code you just need to add this around your code:
Code:
[code]class="post {postrow.displayed.ONLINE_IMG_NEW} post--{postrow.displayed.U_POST_ID}"[/code]

OR

Code:
[table class="inline-code"][tr][td][code]class="post {postrow.displayed.ONLINE_IMG_NEW} post--{postrow.displayed.U_POST_ID}"[/code][/td][/tr][/table]

Add this CSS to your stylesheet :
Code:
.user_status, .user_status * {
  vertical-align:top;
  border-spacing:0;
  display:inline;
}

Should fix that alignment issue.
