Solved comma removal at the end of sub-forum names

Post by rocket2300 on February 27th 2016, 4:16 am

Is there a way of removing the comma's at the end on my sub forum names ?. Ive
seen a couple of topics on here about it, but they didn't work on phpBB3.

Exactly you mean the sub-forum links, correct?

If that is in the description, you should be able to remove the commas in the description box in the ap. AP > General > Forum > Categories & Forums

no ive never touched that, it was like that when I changed over to a new theme and phpBB3
towards the end of last year. All ive done recently was to change my structure and hierarchy
to "Split categories on index to full" as I wanted to reduce the length of my forum. Thats when
the comma's showed up.

It is because of the structure you picked here: AP > Display > Homepage > Structure & Hierarchy
Which one did you pick?

The comma's are there for when your sub forums are linked like this

Forum1, forum2, forum3, forum4, forum5

Your sub forums are going down the page not across the page.

I Don't think there is a code that removes the comma's as its a system code made on the servers and we have no use of the codes on the servers

This may help you move them around a little thou

yes they are set to full.
Set it to medium and it will no longer have commas I believe. It also might look better for you.

I used to have it on medium, but I wanted to reduce the overall length of my forum
because its very big, so thats why I choose full.

Post by rocket2300 on February 27th 2016, 5:33 am

Ok Ape it works on my test forum and all I did was to put the

var sep = '/', max_by_line = 3; to 1 and removed the <br> in the

else $(next).replaceWith('<br>')

but yes your suggestion would work as well.

Because I have other things in my CSS effecting the position of my forum names I had to make
a few adjustments in those as well. Time to go and try it on my live forum now. thumright

Thanks to you all for your input and help.

edited:- ive just tried it on my live forum and it works perefectly. Yes

So I would call this solved.
