Gravatars
It's a real pain in the bum when one has to go around changing our avatar on every site we post on when we want to update our image.
If there was the feature to click to use a gravatar it would be so much more convenient.

Re: Gravatars
This would be helpful for people who use the same avatar. I would not use it since I used different avatars. Also some sites have restrictions on avatars.

Re: Gravatars
I like changing avatars, I use different ones on different forums, so this would work for me.

Re: Gravatars
I've also noticed that on all other systems when one uses the "Link to an off-site Avatar" field they accept the gravatar url including a size. This includes Tapatalk, Proboards and Zeta Boards.
For instance this is my gravatar url including a chosen size of 150px
https://gravatar.com/avatar/15a19b430b7a46fb1a9c060e96cf86cc?s=150.jpg
This is my basic url which will only ever show as 80px
https://gravatar.com/avatar/15a19b430b7a46fb1a9c060e96cf86cc.jpg
All systems accept the first url, Forumotion only accepts the second url. Now if Forumotion also accepted the first url within the "Link to an off-site Avatar" field then there would be no need for specific coding within the system for the feature specific to gravatars.
More and more of my friends are beginning to set up boards on Forumotion and it's so frustrating to have to manually change my avatar on each one individually as I don't want an avatar showing that is only 80px.

It works when you use this field: Upload an Avatar from a URL.Zandranna wrote:I've also noticed that on all other systems when one uses the "Link to an off-site Avatar" field they accept the gravatar url including a size. This includes Tapatalk, Proboards and Zeta Boards.

Re: Gravatars
It's true one can upload it but then it's given a new url which means that changing the image on the gravatar site wont change that image where it's been uploaded.
The whole idea of a gravatar is to be able to change it on gravatar.com which then changes the image on all sites the url has been used.
It only works if one can use the gravatar url as a link and not an upload.
It has to be used as a "Link to an off-site Avatar"

Re: Gravatars
This isn't a hard thing to set up. But, unless more people want it and our head office decides that its worth using it won't become a thing. I'm unsure what my vote on this should be as I'm fine with simply uploading as I have a folder on imgur with my avatars, a folder categorized on my desktop with avatars and a back-up flash drive with my avatars. I'll give it a yes but, again while many places do this it becomes sort of a pain at least to me to have to go to a separate site for it which is again why I rarely use the ones I have on imgur.
Re: Gravatars
Thanks for your vote it's much appreciated because being able to change our avatar on all boards we post on, regardless of the system, with one click instead of manually having to go into each board one by one and change it manually is very important to myself and friends.
I love forumotion but this is one feature that I really miss on here.
