IP Addresses
So it seems that we have several users showing up under the same IP Address, (one of them is a mod) who states that he isn't nor anyone he knows one of the accounts connected. Any particular reason two users end up with the same IP? (Note: The Moderator in question has 1000+ posts and shares 15 or so posts on his IP with others.)

Re: IP Addresses
It could be that more than one person is using the same computer, some Internet providers use proxies, etc.

Re: IP Addresses
Pretty sure that it isn't the same computer. (The moderator swears by the fact he only uses it.) However it may be proxies as the Moderator lives in a different state to where his IP bounces from.
Re: IP Addresses
Also if your modem is turned off and back on, the IP address is changed. Have you contacted these members to asked if they have more than one account?

Re: IP Addresses
Yeah none of them have more than one account after talking to them. Though I am guessing it just occurs when using his mobiles internet when he is out. (He says he does that often.) and the ISP reusing the same IP for people after they are done. (Just wanting to confirm this is possible.)
Re: IP Addresses
Hello.
If you have more then one member in the same town with a proxies ISP then it could be that them numbers(IP ADDRESS) are locked on to that town so there is a chance that the IP address can get used by 10 or more people in its lifetime.
I know that in the uk BT and talk talk do this a lot This then makes it hard to ban a member as they just reset there Modem and there back in and say Jo Blogs next door could now be banned from your site just as you have banned the member who had this ip address before.
so what i do is just look at the IP address of that member and see if the IP address repeats its self more then once on that member and one other member if i shows it has been there more then one time then you can not ban it.
so then making a ban is a little hard but you still have the backup of Email ban and Name ban on any member with proxies Ip addresses.
