Solved move "announcements & sticky" to the top in sub-forums ?.

Post by rocket2300 on May 5th 2016, 6:11 pm

Is it possible to get the "Announcement & Sticky" to the top of
the sub forum because they are currently at the bottom.

This is the only section where I have sub-forums, so would like them
at the top like all the others on my forum.

If you are using phpBB 3, that is how the sub-forums will appear. They will appear above the topic list. I will search the support forum because I believe others have asked the same question.

Hi,

Go to javascript codes management and create a new script with placement only "in the subforums" for the script below.
Code:
$(function() {
  var topiclist = $('.forumbg'),
      catg = $('.forabg')[0];

  if (topiclist.length >= 2 && catg) {
    catg.parentNode.insertBefore(topiclist[0], catg);
  }
});

Have a good day.

See "Spam and off-topic posts"
http://help.forumotion.com/t93820-general-rules

It can be considered spam, but I know you were just bumping your topic with a smiley. My advice: stick with the bump. tongue

Yeah could be, but a smily is not off topic and I don't see how you can spam your own topic Very Happy

I supposed if it keeps them happy i'll use a bump and a smiley. Laughing

I'll try your suggestion above and report back if it works thumright

@An nope it didn't work unforetunately.

Aye, then could you please provide a link on your forum that's viewable to guests?

This link: http://www.suzuki-intruder.org/f52-local-area-meets-rideouts gives me a login page and is preventing me from analyzing your problem further.

Much appreciated. :rose:

Now I see the mistake I made. Follow the instructions I gave you previously, but use the script below instead.
Code:
$(function() {
  var announce = $('.forumbg.announcement')[0],
      catg = $('.forabg')[0];

  if (announce && catg) {
    catg.parentNode.insertBefore(announce, catg);
  }
});
