Solved Adding a little extra space between the topic header and the post

Post by troyeccles on May 16th 2016, 5:30 am

Hello.

Please see the image below.
How I can add a few pixels of space between the QUOTE, EDIT, DELETE icons, the topic header ("Re: AVFC Takeover Thread, Rumours, Gossip and Hearsay...all goes here") and the first line of the actual post ("I said the other day...")

I'd just like to drop the post about 10px if I can. Like a line break.

It's just a little to crammed for my liking

Any help graciously received. Smile

Hi @troyeccles,

Add the following CSS rule to your stylesheet.
Display > Colors > CSS stylesheet
Code:
.postbody .content, .postbody .author {
  margin-top:10px;
}

Code:
.postbody .content
adds a margin above your message.

Code:
.postbody .author
adds a margin above the author portion so there's space between the topic title.

Hi @Ange Tuteur,

No good. The spacing between the author worked well. But I only wanted the spacing between that and the content so I removed the author part and....nothing happened.

This is what I've used.
Code:
.postbody .content {
  margin-top:10px;
}

I exaggerated it out to 100px in case 10 was not noticeable. No difference.

  margin-top:10px !important;

}

I'm sorry to say that made no difference.

I did a search on my CSS for .postbody .content thinking maybe there was already an !important; tag but that example you've given me is the only one so I'm baffled as to why it's not working.

And too clarify, it DID have an affect on the .postbody .author

In your CSS I see you have this :
Code:
Mobile

/* Spacing between topic and body text */
.postbody .content {
  margin-top:100px;
} !important;

Remove the texts "Mobile" or make it a comment, because it's causing an error. Lastly the !important flag is outside of the style rule. Here's what it should look like corrected :
Code:
/* Spacing between topic and body text */
.postbody .content {
  margin-top:100px !important;
}
I'd most likely change 100 to 10 and remove !important, because I'm fairly certain that the reason it wasn't working is due to the "Mobile" texts.

What the...? I've no idea where the "mobile" bit came from.

Not sure if it was removing that or moving the important tag inside the rule but....it's fixed!

Thanks Ange! Incredible again.

Solved.
