"New" User Notificiation

Description of problem

About 1-3 times a year I get an email stating that:

"The account owned by "x" has been deactivated or newly created, you should check the details of this user (if required) and activate it using the following link:"

I go to check members and there's no member by the name of the new account. This happened once this weekend and got another this morning. I know for a fact the past 2 were never members.

What is going on here?

Hello,

Where did you go to check? New members who are not yet activated will not appear or be listed with the rest of your members. The place to check for new users whose account has not yet been activated is: ACP (Admin panel)-->Users & group-->Users-->Inactive users-->New users , so if you havent already, make sure to check there for any new users whose accounts have not yet been activated.
