Hi,

I just got this via PM from one of my moderators:

"As you know I bought a new Dell desk top computer in January because the old HP was having mass troubles. Ever since I bought it I have had nothing but trouble with it. It started 3 hours after I got it home and is still going on. 4 hours on the phone with Dell tech support. Anyway I finally updated the computer to windows 10. I was told this would help the computer operate better, than the old windows 7 pro I had on it. So after doing that I went to sign in here to check on things. when I did I got a message that my Adobe Active X video player was out of date and I couldn't sign in until, I updated it. Having just updated to windows 10 I thought "Well it could be" so I clicked on update. it then put a ton of malware on my computer under the guise of Adobe. Even Kaspersky didn't catch it. Then had to try and figure out how to get rid of it all. KNCTR (free phone), One Drive Live, Web Discover Browser, Are just some of them that showed up. After it was done I could sign in but not until. It all came from this forum. Kinda pissed me off. Know what I mean. I know it's no one fault from the staff but is a problem that seems to exist. I wonder how many members have stumbled into the same thing. But it is a problem that does exist. At first I thought all that crap came from Microsoft with Windows 10. Turns out I was wrong. It was added when I tried to log on here. Just thought I would share that with you."

Nobody else has reported anything unusual.

Is this a site problem? a Windows 10 thing or an Adobe problem?

Hope someone can shed some light on it.

Cheers,

Al.

Hello,

As far as I know it can't be a forumotion problem. Can you please provide your forum address to check if there's anything wrong with your forum?

Thank you,

You should tell your members to never download from anything that says you need to update something. You should always go to the official site and check. It is not your forum that is the issue, but what I would call a misleading ad.
