Description of problem

Admittedly, I'm feeling a bit frustrated and shouldn't have so many problems trying to set up a forum.

First, the email I tried to use said it was taken. Not sure how this could be, as the email address belongs to me at a paid domain. I used another email address and it worked, but I'd like to use my original email address. If MY email address is somehow attached to someone else's account, I'd like to get that rectified.

Second, I received the email for validation and clicked on the link to activate. A new window opened in my browser, but it was blank. I tried the link a few times in both IE and FF...same result. I tried to go to the forum link I set up. It says it doesn't exist. I'm happy to provide you with more information, but I'm not able to send a PM yet because I needed to make a post first.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Does the email from your domain name begin with 'support' , 'info' , 'no reply', of anything else like that?

As for the activation link in the email, when you click it, you say it is blank? What exactly do you mean by 'blank'? May you provide a screenshot of what you see when you click the link?

Thanks for your reply.

No, the first email I tried to use was my first initial and last name followed by @ and a private domain (.org).

When the link opens in a new browser window, the entire window is blank. I get the same result in IE and FF. Here's a screen shot (not sure if I'm attaching it correctly):

Hmm... Wierd, so the link in the email isn't working?

Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies to see if it helps any?

Send me in a private message the email you used to create the forum.

Hi. I tried the validation link again today, and it worked. ::shrugs:: I got a message that said the forum creation was successful.

Also, I changed my mind about the original email and would prefer not to use it anyway (in case of spam issues), so the secondary email I used I will keep. If you still want me to PM the original email address I tried for troubleshooting purposes, please let me know, but I don't want to use it.

Sorry to be a bother. I hope you get the issues worked about about the system saying people's emails are already taken, as I see that has come up in a few threads recently.

Well since it worked, you do not need to send me the email address.  So this is solved?
