Solved Google fonts in chatbox

Post by GALAXbius on July 27th 2016, 3:54 pm

FORUM
My problem is I decided to use google fonts on my forum and they're not working in chatbox.

Google fonts are installed in overall_header and it works on the rest of the forum.
The "Who is online" header looks alright, but the header of the chatbox not so. It tried to edit it with the codes from this thread but they're not working.

Codes I'm using currently:
Code:
td.cat, td.catHead, td.catBottom, th.secondarytitle, th.title {
  font-family: 'Poiret One', sans-serif;
text-align: center;}

a.cattitle, h2 {
  font-size:22px;}

a.forumlink {
font-family: 'Alegreya Sans SC', sans-serif;
font-size:15px;}

span.name {
  font-size: 12px;}

body.chatbox {
    background-color: #EBEBEB;}

a.cattitle, h2{
    font-family: "Poiret One", sans-serif;
text-align: center;}

Sorry for the messy explanation Laughing. Is it possible to change it? Thank you!

Yup, I tried it. I think problem is that the header changes to sans serif but not to Poiret One. It seems like the google font installed in overall_header do not work in chatbox. Maybe it needs to be installed somewhere else I honestly don't know

Are you should that the code should be in the overall_header template? Could you please post the link to the instructions on how to install Google fonts to your forum?

To be honest I used this thread.

Instruction do not give much details:
all you have to do is add a special stylesheet link to your HTML document, then refer to the font in a CSS style.

Just this and examples, nothing more.

https://developers.google.com/fonts/docs/getting_started

I don't want to be troublesome, If it's rather complicated I could probably deal with basic fonts.

Please post the code that you entered in the template.

It should be something like this:
Code:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Font+Name">
But, it should really look like this:
Code:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Font+Name"/>

Code:
#chatbox_header. chatBottom. chattitle { font-family:  YOUR FONT !important;}

Add this to your CSS
Code:
span.chatbox-username.chatbox-message-username, .msg, #chatbox_members {
font-family: 'Alegreya', sans-serif !important;
}
Replace Alegreya by your font you want :3

@SarkZKalie Wow, thank you! It helps a lot!

Header still is a problem though. It just won't change to any font, even the basic one and even if I put it at the top on the stylesheet, like @SLGray suggested. It prioritizes css from a.cattitle while showing the sans-serif font and not Poiret One. It's even weirder now, when the rest of Chatbox fonts work perfectly.

Add !important after sans-serif, or you can add this line to your CSS
Code:
#chatbox_header a.cattitle {
    font-family: 'Poiret One', sans-serif !important;}
