Change of domain name

Post by hamidou5765 on September 2nd 2016, 10:49 am

Hello,
Some people delete their domain name and then order for a new domain name.
What about adding a feature that allows to user to order a new domain name for new 1600 credits before old domain name expiry that will be in his place instead of waiting for domain name deletion and order for a new domain name ?

Hello,
I have buy a domain name www.books-online.com for my forum.
After a period of time I want to change it to www.gold-books.net.
I have to delete first domain name. Then I pay 1600 crédits for book the second domain name.
We want that forumotion add a new field : Change
When you click you have to pay new 1600 credits then ForumOtion will book www.gold-books.net, and link forum to www.gold-books.net and delete link to www.books-online.com in place of waiting for domain name deletion to book a new domain name.

Hello,

In fact it is normal to pay it again because you can't modify a domain name since you're buying the name so Forumotion would have to pay it twice.

You have to pay new 1600 credits if you wish to modify your current personalized domain name by new one. It isn't free.

Wait for 1st domain name deletion to buy a new one is waste of time to administrator. We can resume on one feature Change personalized domain name adress for new 1600 credits. But we keep Delete option for those how want to delete personalized domain name to retreive default domain name.

I understand what you are saying, but I believe it is not possible. The way all providers use domain names are the same.
