Plugin for Forumotion forums: Create multilingual topics

Launching Plugin for Forumotion forums

Dear Members,

After a long period of development, TranslationsCloud is proud to announce that they have just released a plugin that will allow site administrators of Forumotion to create contents in different languages, to have a real international and multilingual forum .

Registration Page for the Plugin: https://www.translationscloud.com/registration

Purpose of this plugin

This amazing plugin for your #forum will allow you to

  • Expand your audience
  • Improve your SEO (Search engine Optimization)

Now, thanks to this plugin you will be able to create multi-lingual topics to allow foreign members to perfectly understand your topics. Thanks to our client area you can submit unlimited translations that you can use later on your own forum.

The result ? It doesn't matter the language of the member, you can provide a translated version for each topic if you want !

How does the Forumotion plugin work?

After the installation of this new plugin (v1.0), on your #forumotion #forum editor you will find a new button that will allow you to include a new dedicated BBcode in your text area.. wow !

In this example, your [alias] BB code article_one in the topic, will be replaced with the related translation in your translations Cloud client area.

It is really simple !

  • You create a translation in your client area
  • You submit an alias in your topic
  • Your members read the version for their own language

We all hope that Forumotion members will be proud and happy to have this amazing plugin for their Forumotion forums !
Having a multi-lingual forum is not something for everybody.. but it is something for all Forumotion forum-owners now

Take note that this is still the first version of our plugin for Forumotion, this means that we are going to create a more powerful tool for your forum (share your feedbacks, your suggestions etc..).

Explanation of css lines

  • .sceditor-button-alias div
this class refers to the button in your forumotion #editor. By default a cloud icon is set, but you can replace https://www.translationscloud.com/fa_sceditor/fa-alias-button.png at any time

  • multilingual-post
this class refers to the icon displayed in multilingual posts. See Creating a new multilingual post section for more information.

  • alias
if an alias is not valid or can not be found in your translation tool, any replacement will take place and a simple alias tag will be displayed. This class allows you to customize the style of a non-valid alias in your posts

    example:

How does it work ?

Creating a new multilingual post

Once the installation process is completed, you can start creating your own multilingual posts and topics

Thanks to our plugin, a special BBcode button is included in your forumotion editor and it will allow you to include an alias in your post

Alias can be created from your client area from Management > New translation and you and your translators can translate them in different languages from Client area > Pending translations. If you include an alias that hasn't been created yet, the system will return "not found"

Of course you can write a normal post and having only a part in multilingual.
Once included it will appear as in the example (Source mode / WYSIWYG mode)

Now we are ready to post it

In your topic page the alias will be automatically replaced with the content of your translation! Wow!

An icon that you can set during the plugin creation will be displayed for valid multi-lingual posts. A simple post or a not-valid multilingual post will not be marked with this icon.

Selecting the multilingual posts' language

If you want to modify or select a language for your multilingual posts you can go on your forum to Profile > Preferences

There is no need to save the page: the update is made inasync mode. If you see the green success text, your modification is done !

What if an alias does not exist in my language ?

If an alias is valid, but it is not available for in your language, the default version will be displayed and a special icon will notify you of a multilingual post in default language
