Solved iPhone Mobile navigation and editing issues.

Post by Dragongirl02 on November 6th 2016, 6:25 am

It seems Forumotion mobile side is still having iPhone issues.
Here a few screen shot. (Yes, I put the login in the corner so I could log in even with the missing menu.)

First of all, the mobile version is too far to the right. On some pages.
Secondly, where is the pull-down menu on the left-hand side? (Probably off screen.)
Third of all, I can't edit posts like I should be able to on my mobile. This may be due to the missing pull down menu on the left.

Site: http://friendlyforest.forumotion.com/
Device: iPhone
Browser: Mobile Safari.

I'm not sure if there some code or something I need to add to correct these issues.

Note, I just took those screenshots a few hours ago. That above topic is not the same issue and due to the phishing ads Iíve cleared my cache a lot too and it is still behaving that way.

Also well fetching those mobile phishing ads through the use of the Desktop safari, user agent it was behaving in the exact same manner it does on my iPhone. No menu or editing options.
Unless another user has any idea, I may just have to fiddle with the code myself and hope I can figure out what's wrong on my own.

I, can work around this issues by using the desktop version. Though I do want members to be able to have the option to use the mobile side too but if it's not working like it should on an iphone what use is it for iphone users?

Edit:
I was able to fix the edittinging issues using this:
http://help.forumotion.com/t142566-how-to-add-post-actions-to-the-mobile-version?highlight=mobile

Still the moblie sites way to fare to the right. I still need to figure how to move it back left should fix the pull down menu.

Did you have modified templates when Forumotion released the mobile version updates?

I don't think I had any changes on the mobile side at the time of the updates. I've been mostly dealing with those nasty ad issues the past few days. The only change that was made before the update were on the desktop side.

I mean any templates, not just the mobile version ones.

Solved Re: iPhone Mobile navigation and editing issues.

I know that I had this skin installed (https://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/ipvista/138261) around that time mobile updated happened as well as the banner.
I think the image change and code change where not made till early, October. Though, the site was first created in 2013 but put on hold for a while.

Edit cleaned up all my edits:

Had to try a few thing at first I thought when I added the edit code in that it was what fixed some stuff but turned out it was not it. How one side was Properly aligned well the rest was no may stay an unsolved mystery.

Properly aligned now:

However the rest is still not alinged:

Now the only reason I can think it got fixed in that first picture was something in the editing infomation codding.

Finlay by November 9, I finally am sure I know what the culprit was. A lot of the Hitskin bases are outdated now. The culprit was the Hitskin base template, I was using and due to it being outdated, it was messing up the mobile side. The good news I should be able to fix the site without it Iíve already started and itís coming out a lot better than I thought.

I finally got the mobile site to behave itself and I can confirm that it was something to do with the Hitskin template, I think a lot of those Hitskin are outdated. So this is solved.
