Complete Mystery Of Madeleine McCann

First Impressions

  • Upon opening up your forum for the first time, I was blown away by how professional and set-up your forum is. I can instantly feel the community you've set up for an important cause. Your dedication to the subject is clear, and first impressions say that there isn't much to fault. The only thing I can see as room for improvement in this area is creating a more welcoming atmosphere. The topic of the forum is serious, but I'd like to suggest maintaining a soft aura so guests feel inclined to join.

General Forum Appearance

  • Your forum appearance appears to be well planned and related to the forum subject. The top images and quotes are very smart and integral to the appearance in my opinion. The images in the forum descriptions are also very nice, but I'd like to suggest making sure the edges all line up along their right side. Some of them look a little out of place, but that can be fixed. The colours don't contrast too much, but give enough range to be effective. The text is relatively easy to read.

Forum Activity

  • Your forum activity is very good, and you have a united community all interested in the one cause. Being a forum of your subject, you can't hold contests to attract new members, but it seems as though you've completed successful promotion. One other way you can increase your activity is by affiliating your forum to help spread the word, but it seems like it isn't currently needed.

Staff & Usergroups

  • I can't access the usergroup descriptions as a guest, but I can see that they are all relevant to the website and are necessary. The staff are pretty active in the community, although, it would be a little better to see more admins posting. This area is pretty good.

Forum Originality

  • Your forum's subject is extremely unique and important. The discussions of your forum are different and it makes your forum stand out. Your community is very dedicated and special, and the overall originality of your forum is outstanding. Good job.

Forum Layout & Organization

  • The widgets are well placed, and I really like the twitter one for anything that relates to the topic. However, I feel that the 'Recent Topics' widget is too long. I agree that by filling out the space on the side with widgets is a good thing to not waste space, but I'd suggest using more widgets instead of extending the current ones. The another thing I suggest for this area is putting a bit more space between the images and the text in the forum descriptions. Additionally, these forum descriptions should be categorised under different titles. This will help users differentiate between general news and Madeleine McCann news.

Grammar & Spelling

  • The spelling and grammar of your forum is good, and I see that a lot of quotes have been used.

Thank you very much for your review.

I've been trying to address some of the issues you raise today and would like to ask one thing to start with in regard to this:

Forum Layout & Organization

The widgets are well placed, and I really like the twitter one for anything that relates to the topic.

How do I put space between the images? It's something I've tried to do in the past but was never successful.
