Solved Modify overall header for banner option

Post by skouliki on November 26th 2016, 12:08 pm

hello

i would like to have the option to add a bigger banner to my forum
now my banner is so tiny

cause the default theme has the banner option throughoverall header using this
Code:
<a href="/" class="textLogo" title="Μετάβαση στο ευρετήριο του φόρουμ" rel="home" accesskey="1"><img src="https://i86.servimg.com/u/f86/11/40/02/06/untit234.png"alt=""> IconSkouliki</a>

if i use bigger icon or bigger text then everything are overlapping..the search option moving over to the theme changer
also the bigger icon is hiding behind the white background

i really dontwant to mess up the theme so i was thinking if we can have this result

search and theme option moving under the log in option
the gray line after banner will be deleted so more space will be created for the new banner

if you have any other solutions please be free to suggest me

note : the theme changer is java and the placement is based on this
Code:
 // elements the selector is attached to
    attachTo : [
      '.bodyline > table:first-child', // phpbb2
      '#page-header', // phpbb3
      '#branding', // punbb
      '#submenu' // invision
    ][version],

Hello @Skouliki, Smile
Where exactly do you want to move the theme changer? It is very easy, it needs to change the selector in js to attach the theme selector into different element and you must make some CSS adjustments to fit it on the correct place.

hello @Van-Helsing thanks for your answer
if the changer makes the forum jumps i want it to move it as it was before
the weird is that every time i reput the code (copy paste) moves to a different area without me changing anything

now the pain problem is that the forum jumps even thought the logo is the right size with the code
Code:
a.textLogo img {
    max-width: 64px;
    max-height: 64px;
}

its really frustrating not be able to put a bigger logo or season deco and every time i try the forum somehow turns to "jump"
same thing with the test forum http://testskouliki.forumgreek.com/

Hello,
Can you place in this topic the javascript that you are using on your forum? And tell me where exactly do you want to attach the theme changer to update your javascript to fix on your forum as you wish.

Hello,
On mozilla firefox it is loading perfect, on google chrome appearing the problem. I found where is the error in javascript 99505:

You javascript tries to run something continuesly and this lagging your forum:

I think it is trying to modify a css code part.

Somewhere maybe in your overall_header or index_body templates you will see this line of code:

Code:
<script src="/99502.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

This javascript is running something in a loop and delays/slowdown your forum. Try to remove or disable this line.
