Description of problem

Had a complaint this morning about my forum and checked it. Sure enough my index is very messed up.

I have a word document with the screen shots since I have to copy my shots to a document to see them.

My site is down for maintenance because of this

*I logged in all settings, and templates, CSS, java all normal

*security logs say no one was logged into admin panel, I had made no changes since the 28th and those were to a profile.

*I resynched forum= no change

*set default to index template= no change

*deleted forum cookies= did not log me out and no change

whats wrong:

-my widgets should be on the right. They are now on the bottom
-my index layout should be consistent. Now the widths vary
-My D&D category forum should not be showing entire profiles, the border is missing on some of them and now one of the forums is permanently highlighted.
-deleting forum cookies does not log the user out

My forum has been smooth running with current features for a long time. The last server change a few months ago resulted in corrupting random threads and we could no longer split the topics. As a roleplay forum we split it in a way to keep post total count. and the last posts from each player, but that made that impossible.

It also interfered with chat box codes, but my tech fixed it.

Have you recently updated or changed anything in the last 24 hours?

UPDATE: I removed any images on the index and it corrected the problem with the layout. Could it be one of the images became corrupted?

Hey i been having problems lately with my forum body as well, try clearing your cache not just your cookies, also try to code in a body structure to stabilize the overall appearance. I am currently at work right now otherwise i would give you the code i used. But i believe this might solve the problem, advise your members to clear cache too. To do this if you are on google chrome go to settings, advanced settings reset. It will log you out of all sites you are logged into but delete all corrupted memory. Chrome has been buggy lately, i hope this helps. If this doesnt help pm me and when i get out of work perhaps i can give you a code to help

After removing index images on my few D&D forums that I use them, the problem went away.

I just designed new logo images and made sure they were smaller and simple, used Servimg to upload. and the issue returned.

modify forum in admin panel:
Img URL box I inserted " https://i.servimg.com/u/f58/18/83/17/12/dd_log11.jpg "

all index issues returned.

That's because I corrected it by removing the function causing it. However. I still cannot use forum img url or it returns.

Woke up to a severely botched forum index! Screen10

this is what is does. That forum turns into a permanent 'selected mode'

my widgets go to the bottom and full width of the page and the index forums go cooky, no matter what image or image size I use.

Woke up to a severely botched forum index! Screen11

widgets shunted to bottom ^

here's the admin panel feature I am referring to using it causes the problem

Woke up to a severely botched forum index! Screen12

I coded a table on the description and placed the image there to do a temporary fix

Yes. I removed the images that caused the problem. But If I try to use the function again. No matter what image size or source it recreates the problem. I corrected by 'substituting' using a image in the forum description section instead through a table code instead until it gets fixed. Otherwise people can't use the index properly. So you can't see the issue except in my screen shots I did before removing the images located here.

Try switching from that image provider to imgur, servimg is buggy in my personal opinion.
