Checking which usergroup user belong

Hello,

how do I check what usergroup user is?
I need this because of the coloring of the username. Or how do I retrieve the username with matching usergroup color?

To see what groups your member is in you can click on the following
ACP >> Users & Groups Tab >> Users >> Search users >> type in the name you want then click ok

now when the name comes up click it then scroll down the page to the bottom right at the bottom it will give a list of groups this member is in.

I meant in code (variables), what variables give me user's group membership..
