Can this be done?
I want to start a new thread (topic) but block it from one member. She has had some tragedy in her life and we want to get together to do something for her. So I do not want her to see the thread. Can this be done?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Please change the title of your topic to something that is related to your question/issue, so that other users will be able to find their question/issue using the search engine.

next add a forum to it. call this what you want.
Permissions now set it as follows
now scroll down and you will see other settings
just tick the ones you want to see the new forum and then save
Re: Can this be done?
APE forgot to mention that the member needs to be in a group by herself.

Re: Can this be done?
I do not see a spot to individually choose members. Can you tell me where this would be?
Also, what do you mean, she has to be in a group by herself?
Thanks.

Re: Can this be done?
Hello,
To get indiviual members into their own group, you should go to the users username in the admin panel, when their profile comes up click the 'permissions' tab, then you will see a column that says 'is moderator' with little tick boxes underneath it. Tick one of these boxes in any section, click save, then go back to that same permissions area and untick it and click save. The user should now appear in her own group in any sections permissions.
The problem with doing this way is that you would need to have a group with all your members in it for it to work. Because if you set a sections permissions to 'members' for can write and reply it automatically selects all groups.
So to single this one member out, you would have to untick that box, make sure all your members are in a group of their, but make sure the user you dont want to have access to the section isnt it in, then tick the members group and dont tick his/her name.
It is all lot of work I know. You could also just create a private section and move it into this section and using the same method above, have everyone but her able to see the section.
