Solved Like button

Post by bhowe on July 28th 2017, 6:34 pm

Is there a way to add a "like" button on each post?

I already have these instructions in my stylesheet. Do I just add on to them or somehow create a second stylesheet?

#wrap, #ddposhack {width: 90%; min-width: 990px; margin:0px auto;}
#wrap {padding: 30px 0px 0px;}
#ddposhack {position: relative;}
#ddmenu {position:fixed;top:0px;right:0px; width: 100%;}
#ddwrap {position:absolute;top:0;right:0;padding:0 6px;background:#cadceb;font-family:Tahoma;font-size:12px;text-align:center;white-space:nowrap;border-radius:0 0 6px 6px;z-index:20000}
#ddnavtoggle {cursor:pointer;height:24px;line-height:22px;font-size:14px;font-weight:bold;}
#ddnavtoggle.newpm {color:#a00;}
#ddnavlinks {padding-bottom:6px;}
#ddnavlinks a {display:block;padding:0 15px;height:20px;line-height:20px;background:#fff;}
#ddnavlinks a:hover{background:#0076b1;color:#fff;text-decoration:none;}
#search_menu {top:0px!important;left:auto!important;right:210px!important;background: #e1ebf2;}

Not sure what you mean about already using the code that you posted. This forum was set up for me by a friend who is no longer available to assist with upgrades. I believe this code is for a custom navbar.

OK, I'll give it a go. I also already have a JavaScript in place. I assume I just create a new additional one as instructed in your link?

OK, I have done everything exactly as instructed. The two "thumbs" appear over/under each other not side by side and there is no count displayed when clicked on. It only shows a pop up with the count when you hover over them. Is there any way to fix this so they at least display the count?

Are your templates modified?

I'm not sure what you mean by modified. I only have a custom drop down navbar at the top of each page. Other than that there is nothing modified.

You can have a look at www.insidelakeside.com

Hi,

To make the buttons inline, add this CSS to the stylesheet:
Code:
.fa_vote{
display:inline
}

Hi,

Add this CSS code:
Code:
.fa_reputation>*{
display:inline-table !important;
}
Then, in your stylesheet, look for this:
Code:
ul.profile-icons li a {
background-position: 0 0;
display: block;
width: 100%;
}
Remove this part from it:
Code:
width: 100%;
Then look for this:
Code:
ul.profile-icons li span {
display: none;
}
And remove it.

Ok, I added that CCS code. The other two things are not on my Style sheet. It now displays the count. they are still over/under versus side/side but I can live with that. Thank you very much!!

One more thing. The member cannot see their own likes/dislikes. The icons only show up on other members posts. Is there a way that you can see your own?

Scratch that last request. You can see your own likes/dislikes after someone clicks on yours.
