Solved Rounded Corners

Post by Kumari on July 31st 2017, 2:31 pm

Hey guys,
Firstly - I tried to complete an advanced topic,. but for some reason the finish button wouldn't activate...

Version: Invision
Site Address: http://thecure.forumotion.com/
Who the problems affects: Everyone/ all browsers.

I know this is recurring problem for many forums as I have been looking for a solution for a little under a week now. I didn't want to bug anyone with it, but I just cannot find a code that will work with my forum to round the corners.
I'm unsure if perhaps there is something in my templates that is disabling it to work, I only have one that has been edited but I am not an expert with coding so I do not wish to look through it for an answer for fear of destroying it completely.

I've tried:
http://help.forumotion.com/t110271-rounded-corners-for-invision
http://help.forumotion.com/t92480-rounded-corners-on-categories-borders
I've also tried different forum version codes, wrap codes and transparency codes.
I've tried to create my code using w3schools.

but nothing has changed. So if someone could please take a look I would be forever in your debt.

Also, I was wondering if anyone has a code to make only the home page forums transparent. I would like to create my own buttons and place them on the boards in the stead of the default boards on the main forum page. I would like the threads within the site to remain the grey color.
I have also searched for this to no avail. I have found tutorials on how to make the entire forum transparent but I am wondering if there is way to make only this section transparent?
As I have made the background for the site transparent, how can I make the font pop more, it seems that the font has gone trasparent also. I would like the font solid.

And one last thing, is there a way to display the avatar on the right of the post instead of the left for invision? I have looked and only found that it can be done PHPBB3, is this true? Surely there must be somewhere in the templates that can be adjusted to suit?

Thank you in advance! <3

Post by APE on July 31st 2017, 3:06 pm

Not sure where you want to make rounded
but i think if you add this to the top of your CSS files and save it should make what your looking for

Code:
.forumline {
    background-color: #;
    border: 2px #fff solid;
    border-radius: 6px !important;
}

The part that makes the rounded corners is
Code:
border-radius: 6px;
change the number to what you want Smile
Preview:

EDIT:
sorry the preview is not that good but your site is a little light to take screen shots of and make look good when showing the work done to get what your looking for.

Also note that all forums have there own set codes so looking for the code's you need you have to look for codes made just for your forum version Phpbb2

Thankyou so much, that explains why I could not find anything to fix my problem! Haha, I feel so silly. But thankyou so much!

Now, is there any way to over ride the text from being transparent as well as the background?? I did it on my last forum using RBGA but for some reason it's not working here. I've probably over looked something.

this is the code im using:
Code:
.forumline {
    background-color: #;
    border: 2px #fff solid;
    border-radius: 6px !important;
  opacity: 0.60;

}
E:SELECT CONTENT
dd.posts, dd.topics, dd.views, dd.lastpost {
display: none !important;
}

a{
text-decoration:none;
}

        .toggles {
        position: absolute;
        right: 5px;
        top: 5px;
        }
        .forumline {
        position:relative;
}

As you can see, i have the opacity in Forumline, which is correct, but The text inside the forum is also transparent 60%, I'd like the text to remain a solid color; but I cannot get the RGBA property to work.

Your welcome.

Now for the other problem the thing is with Phpbb2 it is really outdated.
What i would have done is to remove the code you have and then separate just parts of the forum in classes.

Right now you are making your forum all faded with this class ".forumline"
This is the main code for most of your forum it's hard to change just one thing on the older systems.

Also where did you put the code you gave Is it in your CSS files ? as i can't play about with your code in my tools when on your sit.

Solved Re: Rounded Corners

Post by Kumari on August 1st 2017, 2:08 pm

The code is in my CSS sheet.
I've done this on my other site, I just cannot remember how it was that I did it.
Like on the below site. You can see that the forum body is transparent, but the text still remains solid.

the belkow site is my old one, and it is phpbb2 just as the new one is.

http://thekumariwolves.ohmylife.net/forum

I've ransacked my codes and I can't fiond it.
It's been a long time since I did coding, so I've forgotten wuite a lot.

give this a go Smile

Remove the code you added and change it to this one

Code:
td.row1.over:hover, td.row2 {
    background-color: #e0e0e080;
}
td.row1, td.row3.over:hover {
background-color: #e0e0e080;
}
td.row3 {
    background-color: #e0e0e080;
}
th {
    background-color: #3793ff80;
    background-image: url(https://illiweb.com/fa/empty.gif);
    color: #fff;
    font-size: 11px;
    font-weight: 700;
    height: 25px;
    padding: 2px 3px;
}
td.cat, td.catBottom, td.catHead, td.catLeft, td.catRight, td.catSides {
    background-color: #3793ff80;
    background-image: url(https://illiweb.com/fa/empty.gif);
    border: #fff;
    border-style: solid;
    height: 28px;
}

what i have done was turn off the one you added and then played about using classes set by the layout each part of the code is background colour faded. it will keep the text colour then.

Perfect! Thankyou <3 How ever, I've noticed that if you are to actually go into the forum to the boards, some of the columns are not transparent.

Like below:

http://thecure.forumotion.com/f1-supernatural

the third, fifth and sixth columns are solid; as are some below.
