Solved Searchbox Broken

Post by ANGrey on October 8th 2017, 10:59 pm

Hi there, my name is Lexie.

I recently followed a tutorial (I unfortunately lost the link) which made my Navigation Bar replicate this forum's version. When I completed this, my forum's Search button... quite simply broke.

The code in my css is as follows.
Code:
#pun-navlinks li { font-size:0; }
#pun-navlinks { background:#333; }

#pun-navlinks a.mainmenu {
  color:#FFF;
  font-size:13px;
  font-weight:bold;
  font-family:"Trebuchet MS", Arial, Verdana, Sans-serif;
  background:url('http://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/18/45/41/65/nav10.png') repeat-x 0px 45px;
  display:inline-block;
  height:45px;
  line-height:45px !important;
  padding:0px 12px;
  transition:250ms;
      text-decoration:none;
}

#pun-navlinks a.mainmenu:hover {
  background-position:0 40px;
}

#pun-navlinks a.mainmenu[href="/calendar"]{
display: none;
}

#pun-navlinks a.mainmenu[href="/faq"]{
display: none;
}

A picture of the issue can be seen here.

A second search button can be seen after the initial one as a temporary fix to the issue.

If at all possible, I would like to simply remove the Searchbox, and have the "Search" button directly go to the Advanced Search page. I cannot find a means to accomplish this, nor can I locate the issue with the Searchbox. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure if this counts as an appearance problem, but a link to my forum can also be found here: http://ninjascrolls.forumotion.com/ - My forum's version is PunBB.

Thanks!
-Lexie ♥

Hello

I have looked over your CSS files and there is nothing at all that would have made that go wrong.

I would think you made a change to some templates or you added a javascript to you forum.

Please temperately tun them off and see if it fixes your problem if it does then you need to list your codes you use here.

Disabling Javascript did not fix the issue.

Taking that CSS out of the stylesheet, however, did. With your permission, I will send the login information to a test account with Admin Panel access so you may locate the issue.

To restate, however, if at all possible, I would like to simply disable that effect entirely, and have the Search link automatically redirect to the Advanced Search page.

ok i have found the problem

it was this part of the code
Code:
#pun-navlinks li { font-size:0; }
removed the text on it and there for it just gave you the buttons to pick from

I have removed it and it now shows with no problems Smile
