Solved Remove header and nav bar from certain boards?

Post by Jeff Lynn on October 20th 2017, 3:14 pm

I was wondering if there was a way that I could remove the complete header of my forum only in certain boards?
I would like to do this because I want to embed certain message boards in to the bottom of custom HTML pages on my forum. I am wanting to create TV show fan pages and then at the bottom of the page embed a certain board without displaying the whole forum header and nav bar over again so that members can create topics to discuss the TV show.

Hello,

I believe this is achievable through JavaScript by simply removing the header with CSS when you are navigating certain page links.

I am not a coder so if anybody can give me the codes to do this I would appreciate it.

I have been messing around with some smart iframe code that I found that uses containers and it seems to work in Google chrome browser but gets a little sloppy when I add replies to the threads as seen in the link to my forum here: http://jwboard.forumotion.com/h1-tv-show-demo

You can use this.

Title: Whatever you please
Placement: All pages
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
  if (location.pathname == "") {
    $("#page-header").css('display', 'none !important');
  }
});

You place the link in between the quotes.

Ok, but I'm still a little confused here. So will this code remove the header from all forum pages or just certain pages that I specify?

In the JavaScript code, this part.
location.pathname == ""

You place the link in between the quotes where you want the header to vanish.

Put it as this.
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
  if (location.pathname == "/h4-hidden") {
    $("#page-header").css('display', 'none !important');
  }
});

Also, change the placement to all pages.

Thank you. Found the error. This is what I used and it should work now.
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
  if (location.pathname == "/f4-hidden") {
    $("#page-header").hide();
  }
});

No, all you have to do is add.
|| location.pathname == " "

Like this.
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
  if (location.pathname == "/f4-hidden" ||
      location.pathname == "") {
    $("#page-header").hide();
  }
});
