Solved Ads overlapping chatbox (Mozilla)

Post by skouliki on October 22nd 2017, 6:16 pm

hello

i do not know if its a bug or a problem cause it is only appearing when you are viewing the forum from Mozilla
(from chrome everything is ok cause the ads are not showing for members,even though Mozillashould behave the same it's odd that ads are showing for members )

so as a registered member when you open the chatbox the ads - only the ads not the forum's elements -
are overlapping the chatbox as you can see in my pictures below

force the defaulttemplatesthe issue remains

Yes I also see this I think it's something to do with Firefox them self as I have had nothing but problems with the new update they added the other day.

Things like video's show as a green page and only sound playing and spell check No longer works and other silly little things but when I roll back my laptop it's Okay until firefox updates again so I think this is to do with firefox them self

I have seen this happen before. I believe Ange Tuteur posted the solution. I will try to locate the topic.

you can add the built-in chatbox in Headers & Navigation by go in your Admin Cp>>Display>>Homepage>> Headers & Navigation an adding as a custom nav link its better this way then displaying it on top of your forum or bottom view so you can avoid ads all together.

Menu edition

Menu:Chat Box
Picture;any icon image you want here
Text:Name on navigation that will show on you nav bar
Redirection URL:/chatbox/index.forum? < to get your chatbox full view in a new page an copy the url from your forums chatbox.
Rights:which users can view the the nav bar link
Display: [ ]Open in a new window if you want it to be open on a new tab or page.

Solved Re: Ads overlapping chatbox (Mozilla)

Post by skouliki on October 24th 2017, 7:35 am

bump

edit:

ok i found the issue the chatbox code has this element.....z-index: 9999;
this specifies the stack order of an element. An element with greater stack order is always in front of an element with a lower stack order. Works on positioned elements (position:absolute, position:relative, or position:fixed).
https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_pos_z-index.asp

the ads section has the same code which when i deactivate it the chatbox worked now my question is can i with css fix this?

Code:

html body .w1fbbfae, html body .w1fbbfae iframe, html body iframe[name="google_ads_frame"],
html body .w1fbbfae iframe[name="google_ads_frame"],
html body #wrap #page-body div.w1fbbfae,
html body #page-body .w1fbbfae,
html body div.w1fbbfae {
  display: block !important;
  visibility: visible !important;
  float: none !important;
  left: inherit !important;
  top: inherit !important;
  right: inherit !important;
  bottom: inherit !important;
  margin: 0 auto !important;
  filter: alpha(opacity=100) !important;
  -moz-opacity: 1 !important;
  -khtml-opacity: 1 !important;
  opacity: 1 !important;
  z-index: 9999 !important;
  text-align: center !important;
}

now i cant understand i have two identicalforums and one in my main this is an issue
the chatbox code is fromthistutorial
(default templates, disable java, optimize cssall these actions had no result)

Solved Re: Ads overlapping chatbox (Mozilla)

Post by APE on October 27th 2017, 1:27 am

okay try this:

Find :
Code:
#fa_chat_container {
    background: #FFF;
    border: 1px solid #556682;
    border-radius: 3px;
    bottom: auto !important;
    min-height: 250px;
    min-width: 500px;
    overflow: hidden;
    position: fixed;
    right: 39px;
    top: 30px;
    transition: none;
    z-index: 999;
}

Replace with:
Code:
#fa_chat_container {
    background: #FFF;
    border: 1px solid #556682;
    border-radius: 3px;
    bottom: auto !important;
    min-height: 250px;
    min-width: 500px;
    overflow: hidden;
    position: fixed;
    right: 39px;
    top: 30px;
    transition: none;
    z-index: 9999 !important;
}

This will make the ad's under the banner

as you can see the ad's code is set to z-index: 9999
we have set the chat box to z-index: 9999 that puts your chat box layout in front of the banner ad's Wink

The old code was set to z-index: 999 in that CSS files that was gave by Ange Tuteur
