Post by Doctor Inferno August 17th 2008, 8:39 am

I am suggesting a Higher limit to HMTL pages. The current is 65,000 characters.

Could we get an unlimited number of characters?

There would have to be a ceiling somewhere. It's nice in theory but... I don't know quite how practical... No vote for me.

you find the help promote your site topic useless, so ofcourse you have to make this a useless request too.. im guessing you dont know much about html to what can be done and how long some of it is. Rolling Eyes

65,000 can sometimes be too little in HTML especially with all the html tags you must use.

didnt you learn your lesson in the problem in the gfx section! sty out of other peoples business, and stop trying to moderate people! if a moderator sees this and they think that it is somehow violating the rules they will comment and fix it. many other people have answered like this in the past and every moderator and admin have seen it but guess what... no one has thought that anything was wrong with it.

Post by Jalokim August 17th 2008, 5:17 pm

well....
I use really giant html tags... and i never reached the limit...

I used to have blog entires with images and script that didn't fill it to the max.
Maybe you guys should resource your scripts better... try to join some and use shortcuts.
if you guys have CSS files merged with the html maybe you could export the CSS and host it else where.
That would cut down alot

@ cailhem ... another greatly phrased ban

Why do the topics with insults directed at me always wind up getting tons of posts withinn hours? And since we seem to be having a quoting war... I know much more than you think I know about HTML. I think the limit is perfectly reasonable. I've never hit the limit, just like jalokim.

Yes! Unlimited space for HTML pages is a great idea! (Even though I don't use them for right now, but still)

I've got lightbox on a FTP server ...
I know its not as great as having it on the actual page but loading lightbox onto one html page is a really big task. especially since lightbox has 5 .js scripts and a CSS.

I think you should just set up a free FTP, and visit it every month so it doesn't get deleted. Then your Fm site can just read the data from the FTP .
