Themes in Admin panel

Post by skorpy on December 20th 2006, 6:46 pm

The new Themes looks great in our admin panels. But the problem is ,I am too scared to try them incase I dont like them and want my old forum back. My suggestion is:

To be able to look at the theme's in full,so we can see what they look like as a whole instead of just seeing the top corner of it before we choose it.

Also to be able to change back to your original format you had before you tried the new theme. (Your forum you had before)

I am not sure I have corectly anderstood the problem, some I am affraid to look like stupid saying that...
If you want to try a new them, you can go first in the "Export/Import" panel, you export your actual theme to your computer, after that you try all the themes you want and if at the and you prefere your first theme you only have to import it back to your forum, in the "Export/Import" panel, but this time you choose to import a theme (the one you save at the beginning).
Is this a solution to your problem or am I looking stupid?? scratch scratch scratch

If you want to test themes, create a test forum and test away!

I don't no if it's a good idea.
in your own forum, if you make like I said, you lose nothing. moreover, testing the theme directly in your forum is better because you see the real effect of the theme in YOUR forum, not in a empty new forum... And if you create a new forum with new categories and new messages and ... you will have too much work for nothing...
So the solution is simple :
1- save your theme
2- test the new theme
3- import th old theme if you don't like the new...

you want more simple than this?? I don't no if it is possible

In the end I just choose bits of another theme and added it too my forum and I made the rest for my banner and navigation bar myself. The colours I did myself too,and its turned out just how I wanted it.

Well that's what I've done, and my test forum is really good because you can also change some of the configurations without messing up the good forum..
