First topic message reminder :

here are my

Hello everyone and welcome to Staffordshire Bull Terrier forum!

You will need to register to post, this can take a little while, please be patient... if you are only here to read then, of course, there is no need to register.

If you spot a post you think moderators should be alerted to, there is a little alert button in the top right of each message.

  • SBT Forum members are expected to act in a community-spirited way. It is unacceptable to behave in an anti-social manner on SBT Forum. If a forum member feels that someone is behaving in an anti-social manner, they should use the 'Report' button to alert the moderators
  • Any contribution that breaks the rules may be removed, and offenders risk being placed in pre-moderation or being banned from the site
  • SBT is for dog content. Any comments that are deemed to be off-topic may be moved
  • Completing your personal profile is mandatory. You must fill in this information to finish your registration and become a full member of SBT Froum.
  • Please don't abuse the complaints system. The Report button exists so that users can alert us to content that breaks the house rules i.e. offensive material, not typos and spelling mistakes. If a user repeatedly abuses the complaints button we may suspend their account
  • No harassment. Repeatedly posting personal or offensive comments that are abusive, threatening, offensive, obscene, harassing, harmful, inflammatory, racist or otherwise objectionable about individual members of the public or people who work for the Forum may be considered harassment. We reserve the right to remove such messages and take action against those responsible
  • Only make written contributions that are your own work or to which you have the copyright or other permission to distribute electronically. You may not violate, plagiarise, or infringe on the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, personal, publicity, or proprietary rights
  • You may not post any defamatory or illegal material of any nature. Posting a message with the intention of committing an illegal act is strictly prohibited
  • Do try to have fun with the forums. If you find yourself getting wound up or stressed take a break for a bit… coming back refreshed and eager to throw your wit at us once more.
  • Do be patient with other users. Even if someone posts in a way that annoys you (in “txt spk” for example), stay polite and light-hearted in any response. (In 10 years they might be your doctor, or Member of Parliament.)
  • SBT Forum reserve the right to change the house rules from time to time by publishing any amendments on site. You are responsible for regularly reviewing the house rules. By submitting a post you confirm your acceptance of any changes
  • No promoting dog fighting in anyway. We all know that this is what our dogs came from. However it is now illegal. We do not in any way support the very cruel act of dog fighting. Any posts made supporting it will be deleted.
  • AVATARS AND SIGNATURES MUST BE PG RATED AND CANNOT ADVERTISE DOG FIGHTING, DRUG USE, OR SEXUALLY EXPLICIT MATERIAL. You will be asked to remove such material ONCE and possibly banned for no compliance. People who browse this site at work should not have to be held accountable for content in YOUR avatar or signature. If you have to think twice about it or ask, its probably not appropriate.

Member Names will be failed if they...

  • Contain website or email addresses
  • Contain contact information ie phone numbers, postcodes etc
  • Appear to impersonate someone else
  • Contain swear words or are otherwise objectionable

We reserve the right to fail messages which

  • Are considered likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others
  • Are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise objectionable
  • Contain swear words or other language likely to offend
  • Break the law or condone or encourage unlawful activity. This includes breach of copyright, defamation and contempt of court.
  • Advertise products or services for profit or gain
  • Are seen to impersonate someone else
  • Include contact details such as phone numbers, postal or email addresses
  • Are written in anything other than English - Welsh and Gaelic may be used where marked
  • Contain links to other websites which break our color. (look below to find info about links)
  • Describe or encourage activities which could endanger the safety or well-being of others
  • Are considered to be 'spam', that is posts containing the same. or similar, message posted multiple times
  • Are considered to be off-topic for the particular message board

The Forum welcomes feedback, both positive and negative, about our services but please make sure your comments are in line with the above House Rules. Repeatedly posting personal or offensive comments about individual members of the public or people who work for the Forum may be considered harassment. We reserve the right to remove such messages and take action against those responsible.

* Edit the description and rules for a forum

Moderators do not have not the power to delete users; this option is availible only to the me. If you feel that a user should be deleted or banned, please make a topic in the moderator room and tell and i will sort the problem out

* Check the forum at least 2-3 times a week
* Work for an active and pleasant forum
* Help new users on the forum to join the community
* Move messages that have been posted on the forum that you moderate but should have been posted on a different one

Main Rules:

Revised: 01 Jan 09

GENERAL INFORMATION

Below you will find a list of rules, and a brief explanation of some terms you will hear a lot on the boards. We will ask that you follow these rules, use common sense, and just generally help make this community a good and friendly place.

Please know that no member of the The Trinity Forum Administration/Staff will never contact you for your email address, password, or any other personal information. No member of the Staff will ever contact you for any of the above, as the Administration, and only the Administration, has access to these three things if you wish to keep it private. If anyone contacts you for your password, please report them to us immediately so we can stop the imposter.

Please note that no email you recieve from this forum goes unsolicited. When you goto your CP, you can opt to recieve Administrator mailings or not. If you ever complain about getting these emails, it will be ignored. The CP page marked off to stop getting mail from us. Any threat of legal action will not be taken seriously, as the forum emailings do not get sent to you unless you permit it.

Please do not give out any personal information such as phone number, postal address, zip code, last name, or anything you do not wish others to know. If you choose to ignore this request, we cannot be held responsible for the consequences. First Name, Age, Gender, Location, and Birthday are all optional upon registration. As stated above, only email address, username, and password are required. Please know privacy is very important to us; we will never divulge your email address to anyone without first asking your consent. If you get "spam" emails from a member (this can occur if you check "Yes" for show email on the registration page) please report the email address to us so we can investiage.

All smilies are copyright or trademark their respective owner, and are in no way, shape, or form, declared our own.

MODERATORS/GLOBAL MODERATORS

Moderators are the first Staff position you can get, and they are given power to enforce the TOS by editing/closing/moving what is not neccessary or appropriate in the forum that they are assigned to. They carry none of the aforementioned power outside of the forums they are given. Moderators can delete, and can ban.

Global Moderators are the second highest ranking Staff member, and generally the same as Moderators, except their editing/closing/moving powers are on a global basis, which means they have power in all forums, not just the ones they are assigned to.

Administrators are the highest ranking Staff member, and oversee all forum happenings. They can edit, delete, close, and move anything anywhere in the forum. They also have Administrator control panel access, where they can IP ban, edit signatures, delete accounts, and generally change anything technical in the forum.

If you'd like to be a Moderator, Global Moderator, the first rule is DON'T ASK. When a Staff member sees someone who has contributed a lot to a specific forum or forums, we will hold a poll in the Staff lounge to get the forum team's opinion. If it's a yes, we will PM you and offer a job. If it's a no, we will PM you and inform you you came close to becoming a Moderator, but were lacking in one area, but encourage you to keep up the good work and possibly step it up a bit. If you ask to be a Moderator, your chances of becoming one are incredibly lessened. Also, if you only have about 10 posts, please don't bother asking because it's not enough for us to evaluate you on.

SUPSENDING/BANNING

Banning is when a member's access is cut off from the board. They cannot view, post, reply, anything at the forum. If your breach of TOS is not very major, we will simply ask you not to do it again. If your breach of TOS is above minor but below major, you will be suspended. If your breach of TOS is major, it is possible you will be banned. Each case is unique, and the Administration will handle each issue as it arises.

You will become banned if you break any of the posting rules disciplinary action may be necessary. You may be warned, suspended, or banned depending on the severity of your misconduct. We do not like to ban people, but if a member is creating a negative envrionment for the rest of the forum, we will have no choice. So, please just follow the rules and you will be fine.

PUNISHMENTS FOR VIOLATORS

When you breach of any of these TOS, the following actions can and will be taken:

- 1st Warning % (informal/via PM)

- 2nd Warning %(formal in public)

- Suspension & Warning %(When out of warnings, your username will be supsended)

- Ban (You failed to take the warnings and correct the problem, so you left the Staff with no other choice)

Warning Percentages, rough guide:

Spam--- 20% 1st offense
Spam--- 50% 2nd offense

PRIVELAGES

Your privileges as a member (as opposed to a guest) are these: you are able to post new reviews, stories, and threads, reply to current threads, give feedback, and generally be part of the community. Please note that as a member you cannot delete your threads, only edit them. If you'd like a thread deleted, private message the Moderator of that forum, a Global Moderator, or an Administrator. If you would like to delete a story or review, private message an Administrator and they will do it.

Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the Author of the message, not necessarily the views of this site. Any member who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by e-mail and/or private message. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this site to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this site.

POSTING RULES

These rules are put into effect so that the discussion that takes place can be enjoyable for everyone involved. If you feel a post breaks, or may be breaking, the TOS, please contact Admin or one of the Moderating Staff.

#1. Please don't insult another forum member based on their religion, race, or culture. Those are their beliefs, not yours, so keep your rude opinions to yourself. Also, try and keep outright flaming out of the public forum. If you have a problem, try and work it out with them via PM. If you are unable to solve your differences, contact an Administrator, Global Moderator, or Moderator.

#2. We would appreciate it if you tried to keep your posts as clean as possible. We understand you may become angry enough to say some pretty "serious" swear words, but please keep cussing moderate and do not do it excessively.

#3. No pornographic images are permitted at this forum. Anyone who is caught by a Staff member will be immediately banned, no questions asked. If you are a member, and find offensive materials, IMMEDIATELY notify a Moderator, Global Moderator, or Administration.

#4. Administrators, Global Moderators, and Moderators are the staff here. They make decisions on a day-to-day basis and make sure The Trinity Fan Forum keeps a positive and friendly environment. If you have a problem, PM a Moderator, Global Moderator or Administrator.

#5. A user may be warned, suspended, or banned for rule infractions, or general misconduct. What action is taken will depend on severity of TOS violation and the user's history on the site.

#6. No spamming! Don't post a thread more than once, and please wait a full 24 hrs. before bumping your thread again if you get no responses. Also, try and post your thread in the appropriate/correct forum. If you've noticed it's in the wrong forum after you posted it, just PM one of the Moderators and they'll go ahead and move it to the correct forum for you. Forum Staff reserve the right to lock, delete, edit, and/or move any thread or post.

#7. Advertizing! Staff will allow one banner/button in your signature. The link must be hidden, and you may not put this beside it:

CLICK HERE in super large font

You may do this:

^Click here for my forums^ in normal sized font, underneath your banner/button link.

You may also do text links. This is an example of a text link:

[url= http:// rpgsonline. clicdev .com/f/ ] Hot Forums [/url] (no spacing)

It will appear as this in your signature:

Hot Forums

Violaters will have their signatures removed.

If your Caught/Reported as trying to recruit for your site thru PM's, Admin will be forced to shut you down or ban you. One banner is enough advertizement. You do not need to bother other members or Staff with your junk mail.

#8. Double Posting! Staff will allow certain occasions for Double Posting. But for the most part, please learn to use the EDIT Button. See Warning Percentages for more on this. (NOTE: Staff is allowed to DOUBLE POST)

#9. When posting, type in a subject that summarizes your question. A great way to turn off other members wanting to help you is to type an incomplete, or silly subject for your post. Examples of poor subject titles include:

- "Help me now!"
- "I'm a newbie...go easy"
- "How can I..."
- "Urgent...help!"

Also, be descriptive and articulate when asking your question-When posting, understand that you're trying to convince others to help you. Be articulate and have respect for the English language! Some important guidelines on this:

- Always do a quick check for spelling/grammar mistakes, both in your subject and post itself.
-Format your question and code in an easily legible manner. Use the preview button often.
- Be concise and articulate as much as possible.

#10. Signature must be no larger than 400 x 125 px. You may include a What Pulse banner if you want, this will move your limits to a maximum of 400 x 165 px.

Avatars must be no larger than 100 x 100 px.

#11. Check each forum before you post, as there my be a Sticky that will offer more rules on top of the TOS.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Freedom of Speech? Although the constitution of the US guarantees that Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech, this website is not Congress. Freedom of speech rights do not extend to this privately run website. The TOS/Guidelines of this website governs the behaviors and activities of the members. If you choose not to follow the guidelines agreed to during registration, the result is a disabling/banning of your account.

These are the rules of the forum. They are not set in stone, nor do they include everything. This the basic outline of the rules. Matters not listed in these rules will nonetheless be dealt with. Always use common sense before posting.

Please note that this forums Staff reserve the right to ban users without just cause at any given time. (not saying we will, just in case someone is bringing negativity and no rule above specifically says we can ban them)

We take this very seriously; consider this your first and only warning!

Depending on the seriousness of the offense, you may not receive any warning and may be immediately banned from the The Trinity forums.

COURTESY:
The The Trinity forum is a shared space and it will require everyone’s participation to make it a great space. Please do not litter the forum with:

• Bumps - posts to move your message up the list.
• Firsts - posts that do nothing but show how quickly you replied.
• Screams – posts with all cap titles.
• Staff Calls – posts to try to get the attention of the staff. Although we monitor the boards and will read most posts, we cannot respond to every post.
• l337 Speak – posts that use l337 or text message speech. No one can or wants to spend the time to understand you so just speak normal.

We understand that some people are new to forums and so we encourage the general community to help new users learn acceptable conduct.

Thanks for making the forums a great place!

Post by Darren1 January 4th 2009, 5:41 am

Tarogasini wrote:
It is quite simple. I am the boss, i make the rules. Follow them or feel the consequences.

1. About names, avatars and signatures of the users :

- No racist, nationalistic and Nazi names. For example : names like Hitler, Himmler, Mussolini are not acceptable. You will be warned to change them, if not : ban.
- No racist, nationalistic and Nazi signatures. Or links guiding to any of the above. It is strictly forbidden, 1st warning, if not changed...ban.
- No racist, nationalistic and Nazi avatars and pictures. First warning to change them, if you wont = ban.

2. About forum behavior :

- No insulting other users or being offensive to them in any possible meaning. Not with words, pictures, or videos.
- No racist, nationalistic and Nazi language. Immediate ban if found out.
- No multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count ( spamming ). Post reasonably and actually type something, not just : "lol" or "hehe" or emoticon. No spamming over PM also.
- No double posting in range between 18 hours. Edit button was invented with a reason and on my forums, it works for 18 hours. If you post again in this time, your action will count as double posting, if you post after 18 hours, it wont.
- No leet speak. If i see anyone answering & posting like : "i amz newz to dis f0rumz kanz s0me1 helpz"...Ban. Immediately.
- When making a topic, make understandable title. Titles like : "???" and "help!!!" doesnt really make sense and people will even refuse to participate in that kind of topics.
- No off-topic please. If possible stick to the themes, if you want to tell something that is not related to the current topic, simply create another. Forums are meant to have topics, so dont economize with room.
- Dont over use the CapsLock button. Write with small letters, sentences written with big letters means screaming/shouting.
- No AlTeRnAtE cApS, because it looks retarded.
- Dont post stealer links. IP stealers are a dangerous thing.
- Please, use search button for the sake of humanity... and this forums. It is really annoying answering 3x to the same question, made by 3 different people, just because they didnt use search.
- Please post your comment/question to the most appropriate place. Any posts deemed to be in the wrong forum will be moved. Do not cross-post the same question to multiple places.

3. Other rules :

Thats it. For now. But i will be probably updating my rules after i review all of the rules posted above.

Also, we reserve the right to perform any action that we wish, changing the rules as above is included by that.

This would basically sum up the zillions(if they were counted) of rules my personal forum would have ))

Tarogasini wrote:It is quite simple. I am the boss, i make the rules. Follow them or feel the consequences.

a) About names, avatars and signatures of the users :

1. No racist, nationalistic and Nazi names. For example : names like Hitler, Himmler, Mussolini are not acceptable. You will be warned to change them, if not : ban.
2. No racist, nationalistic and Nazi signatures. Or links guiding to any of the above. It is strictly forbidden, 1st warning, if not changed...ban.
3. No racist, nationalistic and Nazi avatars and pictures. First warning to change them, if you wont = ban.
4. Members registered with names of websites, such as : www.example.com will be asked to change their names into something more appropriate. Names with entire URL are considered advertising, which is not allowed.
5. Your avatar is not an advertising banner, so avatars with your forum URL must be avoided.

b) About forum behavior :

1. No insulting other users or being offensive to them in any possible meaning. Not with words, pictures, or videos.
2. No racist, nationalistic and Nazi language. Immediate ban if found out.
3. No multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count ( spamming ). Post reasonably and actually type something, not just : "lol" or "hehe" or emoticon.. Make meaningful posts, if you have nothing to say, dont say it. Post "lol" does NOT contribute the forums. When replying, think of an appropriate response and don't respond
because you can, respond when you have something worth saying. So please dont even create posts with less then 5 words.
4. No double posting in range between 18 hours. Edit button was invented with a reason and on my forums, it works for 18 hours. If you post again in this time, your action will count as double posting, if you post after 18 hours, it wont.
5. No leet speak. If i see anyone answering & posting like : "i amz newz to dis f0rumz kanz s0me1 helpz"...Ban. Immediately.
6. No spamming over PM about anything. Staff wont answer you on PM requests asking for help and members can report you for it. Once evidence being reviewed you can have your PM ability disabled.
7. Please make readable and understandable posts. Make sure that they make sense, before clicking on reply button. Check your grammar and spelling. A person is, what he posts.
8. No SMS style posts. Posting like : l8r i ve 2 to do sumtin 4u = SMS style typing.
9. When making a topic, make understandable title. Titles like : "???" and "help!!!" doesnt really make sense and people will even refuse to participate in that kind of topics.
10. No off-topic please. If possible stick to the themes, if you want to tell something that is not related to the current topic, simply create another. Forums are meant to have topics, so dont economize with room.
11. Dont over use the CapsLock button. Write with small letters, sentences written with big letters means screaming/shouting.
12. No AlTeRnAtE cApS, because it looks retarded.
13. Dont use big letter on the start of every word you make : I Came To Tell You That This Way Of Typing Really Really Sucks.
14. Dont post stealer links. IP stealers are a dangerous thing.
15. Please, use search button for the sake of humanity... and this forums. It is really annoying answering 3x to the same question, made by 3 different people, just because they didnt use search.
16. Please post your comment/question to the most appropriate place. Any posts deemed to be in the wrong forum will be moved. Do not cross-post the same question to multiple places.
17. Dont overuse bold and colors. Bold and colors are used for pointing out things, like a word or two to make them easily visible or for moderation. Posts written entirely with colors or bold will be edited and a reminder will be given.
18. Keep a »healthy« measure of bad words. They are allowed all the way, but dont let your post being made from only curse words.

c) Other rules :

1. Write in English only. If you dont speak English locate a special place for other languages. Dont worry, its on visible place.
2. Do not advertise anything. Anything. If you want to advertise, put it in your signature and dont bother other people with it. No advertising over PM also. If you are running a similar website send a PM to me ONLY and maybe we can work things out about cooperation.
3. No porn. No promoting, searching, showing, asking for... any kind of porn. Ban immediately.
4. No pyramid schemes, frauds. Ban immediately.
5. Work of administrators and moderators and your agreeing or disagreeing with their work are not publically discussed on forums. Resolve your problems with them over PM or send a PM directly to me.
6. You are allowed to have only 1 account. If you did a mistake at registration process send a notice to any staff member and he will sort it out.
7. Do not try to impersonate other people. That is called identity theft and we will found out sooner or later. Punishment will be ban.
8. Please don't abuse the complaints system. The Report button exists so that users can alert us about the content that breaks the forum rules, like offensive material of any kind and NOT for spelling mistakes. If a user repeatedly abuses the complaints button, he may be given a temporary ban.

your forum rules - Page 2 Empty Re: your forum rules

Post by The Monkey Man January 6th 2009, 7:39 pm

These are my rules:

your forum rules - Page 2 SMBF_Main_Rullllez27176
Below are the main forum rules for this site. We know that you are all good members, but we need you guys to know these to avoid getting into trouble, and dragging visitors away from the site.

Every single rule below applies to all forums, threads, posts, private messages, profiles, avatars and signatures.

Please read carefully as there is no valid reason for violating ANY policy, especially with the excuse "I didn't know it was a policy." "I haven't read the rules yet." or "I didn't think that was the meaning of that rule." Ignorance of any of the rules is never acceptable, no matter how strict the rule is.

If you don't know whether or not your actions violate the site rules, or do not understand the rule and/or why it's there, you should refrain from doing that action and ask an Administrator or Moderator before proceeding. Keep in mind that Moderators and Administrators have final say about what happens on this site and their decisions are are final.

Also, please keep in mind that the rules may change unexpectedly, so please check them at least once a week.

We want Super Mario Forums to be a safe, friendly community, so make sure you follow all of them!

Mild Rules - these ones have 20 chances until you get a two week suspension. Breakage of these 20 times after the suspension will result in a one month suspension, then a permanent ban.

1. No "BUMPing" or double posting before 24 hours.
2. Don't post if the post is not needed, post just to increase your post count, or litter the forums.
3. Always reply to Mods and Admins when they ask or tell you something important.
4. Keep all your posts G-rated (or in other words, something that would be suitable in a Disney cartoon 15 years ago).
5. Don't post violence-related posts towards anyone, except Naughty Teletubby, because he deserves it.
6. Don't talk about love, because sometimes, this can lead to extremely inappropriate subjects.
7. Try to keep text talk (txt tlk), bad word order (Word bad order!!!), yelling (YELLING!), purposely exaggerated bad grammar (pRupsly exagrtd bd grmr!!!!!!!!!!11!!11), mixed caps (mIxEd CaPs) and leet speak (L33T5P34K) to a minimum. These don't just make your posts nearly impossible to read, they make the little kiddies laugh at ya. Using the occasional 'u' or 'r' is okay, as long as you don't use it too much.
8. Do not post any content aimed for just one day ('I was ill today', 'What I did today', 'I'm off school tomorrow', etc.), topics that aren't very discussable ('I like donuts', 'I'm buried in a pile of sand ATM, brb', etc.), or topics that apply to multiple occasions ('There's a new member', 'Naughty Teletubby has been naughty', etc.). This is a forum, not a blog. However, this rule doesn't apply for celebration purposes, such as Christmas, Hanukkah, Birthdays, Mario events in RL/the forum, etc. - these are welcome.
9. Try not to use large images (more than 800x600 pixels big) in your posts. If you want to do so, please put them in a spoiler tag.
10. Be patient. Please be aware that every single member here has a private life outside the forum, and bumping up your thread every single two minutes won't help at all.
11. When posting a goodbye in the 'Greetings and Goodbyes' forum for a vacation, holiday, etc., please only post if you're going to be gone for five days or more. If you are going for less time, send it into a PM to your friends if you feel it's required.
12. We do not like 'grave digging'. Do not post on threads that haven't been replied to for 60 days or more unless you are going to post something constructive.
13. Don't post in any colors that blend in with the site's background, as this makes your post kinda pointless. Also, don't post in any colors that don't mix well together, and that make your eyes go funny.
14. Check that the forum that you posted your topic in fits the theme of your topic, so don't post a thread in the Bugs and Glitches forum about your favorite food.
15. Try to avoid using too much presentation (fonts, sizes, biu, etc.) in general posts, as this can be annoying if done too often.
16. Don't post threads with extremely random nature. This includes threads about a single type of food (such as a threads saying 'Do you like pie/cake/cookies/etc.', 'I wonder how they make waffles', etc.), very narrow details that you wouldn't really bring up a conversation about in everyday life (e.g. Do you like haircuts, is your computer screen 1280x1024 pixels, etc.), or the like. To avoid breaking this rule, ensure that the main topic of your thread can have a diversity of replies.

Strict Rules - these ones have six chances until you're permanently banned - the first will recieve a warning and the warning level being dropped down by one block, the second one will be a final warning and two blocks dropped down, the third will result in a three day suspension, fourth a week, and the fifth a month. In the first ten days after your registration at this forum, the underlined ones will be treated as severe rules.

1. No Spamming (Identical/irrelevant posts, off topicness, posts that disrupt a thread, mass PMing who haven't invited you to PM them, posting extremely random/spammy stuff just to increase your post count, using the forum as a chat room (e.g. POSTER 1: hi POSTER 2: hello POSTER 1: do you want to play brawl with me POSTER 2: okay then who are you playing as? POSTER 1: i'll play as luigi which course shall we play on? POSTER 2: mario kart circuit POSTER 1: oky letsa go POSTER 2: oh no my health is going down POSTER 2: haha i just threw you) threads with the topic of "what I did today..." (this is a forum, not a blog or chatroom), repetitive bumping of threads (you can only bump once after someone (including you) hasn’t posted in the thread for 24 hours), one or two letter replies (i.e. ok, LOL, Yes, agreed, nods) and posts containing more than 30 smilies, or 5 smilies per line, whichever is smaller), Phishing (tricking someone to giving away their account or credit card details) or Flaming (causing huge arguments).
2. Don't advertise your websites in your posts, signatures or avatars: if you wish to do so, please put it in the website section in your profile. If you joined only to advertise your site, then this also will be treated as a severe rule.
3. Don't impersonate or act like any other users, especially moderators and administrators.
4. Don't post any personal information. Personal information means age [because if you say your age, people will know how to target and attack that specific age group], SPECIFIC location [country/state is as far as you want to get], last name [you are one of the only people on Earth with your first and last name], photos of self [if randomers know what you look like, they can get ya easier], etc.
5. Speak English at all times. If you wish to speak another language, please post in another Super Mario Bros. forum that suits your language.
6. Don't be mean or racist to other members.
7. Don't criticize. Creative criticism is alright, but other types are completely prohibited.
8. Do not discuss highly controversial topics, such as religion, politics, abortion, animal testing, capital punishment and s**ual orientation.
9. Don't accuse other people of breaking these rules on the forums - if you want to do this, send it in a PM to an administrator.
10. If your post has been removed by a mod for rule breaking reasons, please don't repost it.
11. Don't post a topic more than once. If your thread is in the archive, just ask a mod/admin to move it back.
12. Please do not point out people or members in a negative way in public. If someone is bullying you, threatening you, hacking you, etc. through the site, PM it to an administrator IMMEDIATELY - do not post it on the forums.
13. Do not post any email addresses or instant messaging addresses on the forum.

14. Please do not post threads or polls asking 'Who is the best ___?', 'Who smells better?', etc. These are favortism threads, and will not be tolerated, because they often end up in situations where someone expresses a negative opinion about another person.
15. Do not give out your Super Mario Forums account info. You can never trust anyone with your account, not even your sibling or your best friend.
16. Make sure that each of your posts contain at least two words, or ten characters, whichever is longer.

Severe Rules - these ones will give you a permanent ban on the first sighting

1. Don't use inappropriate language or inappropriate pictures in your post. This means profanity (in both text & image form), s**ual words or images, gory or gross images, migrain-triggering flashes, or anything else that some people might find uncomfortable or can't cope with.
2. Don't join the forums unless you're going to post at least ONE post. If you join and don't post at all, you will get deleted without warning after 30 days.
3. Don't have more than one account owned by yourself, unless permission is given by The Monkey Man. This rule doesn't apply to administrators and moderators, as they can create extra accounts to test new features.
4. Don't scam people - this is against the law, and will not be tolerated on this site.
5. Do not post R0Ms, IS0s, emul@tors, or any discussion of those topics, whether it's Mario or non-Mario related - this is a fansite, not an 3mulation site, and 3mulation can be illegal if used in the wrong way.
6. Don't bypass the filter - we have a filter, but not every single bad word is blocked. Also, don't use words that have a resemblance to bad words as a replacement, not including the writing of these rules.
7. Do not post any BitTorrents, trojans, or viruses on this site.
8. Do not discuss hacking, except to say that you've been hacked.
9. When donating, please do not give false information. You might be using the money of someone who badly needs it.
10. Please do not mention t*bacc*, dr*gs or alc*h*l on this forum.
11. Don't post downloads in your posts, unless you have permission to do so.
12. To ensure you have read the rules, please give TT59153 reputation for this post. This allows us to know how many people have read the rules, and keep an eye out for rule-breaking members.
13. Please do not post any money related stuff (e.g. Help me raise money, Posting a competition - winner wins $5! etc.), except for that you donated or you're quitting due to the economy, because most of our users are under 18.
14. Do not bribe for any reason whatsoever (bribing is offering something, usually money, to have someone do something for you).
15. Do not join if you're only going to post in the Other Topics forums. This is a MARIO site, not a general chat site. Most users join our community to talk about Mario. If you have posted no Mario related discussion after 30 days of joining, your account may be deleted.
16. Do not encourage bullying, breakage of rules, or criminal activity.
17. Do not refuse to read or follow the rules or ignore your warnings.
18. Never break any of these rules for attention, such as having a thread called "LOL, I'm breaking a severe rule", then the main thread is like "Download thing HERE Also, I think the background of the site needs changing.", or the like.
19. Don't post smilies, ASCII text, or the like to produce rude imagery/words.
20. Have fun!

As you may know, there are many rules. Some are mild rules, and some are very strict rules. And some will get you banned on the first sighting.

If you break twenty mild rules, two strict rules, or one severe rule, this will happen to you:

1. We will remove your avatar - you will have to load it again when/if the ban is over.
2. We will make your current usertitle, "Game Over".
3. We will ban you, so you won't be able to access the forums.
4. We will change your signature to 'I have been banned until dd|mm|yy/forever.' You will have to load it again when the ban is over.
5. We will remove all your ranks until the ban is over.

So your posts will look similar to this (The person below got banned for swearing):

your forum rules - Page 2 Banned10

And as well as following the rules, it's best to look out for rulebreakers.

Here is a brief list of things you should and should not do when you see a post or thread worthy for immediate banning of the member.

Unfortunately the moderators and administrators can't view every single post on this forum, so we need you to help keep an eye out for rule-breaking members.

Anyway, if you if you find any members breaking any serious rules on the forum:

  • DO send a PM to a mod, or report the post. Both are just as good. It's rather disappointing to see people who in no way contact a mod, egging the person on to continue.
  • DO be sure to include details. User name at the least. Having a thread where they did it is really nice, but not necessary.

  • DON'T reply to the person. At all. If you feel that for some odd reason you MUST reply:
    • DON'T quote the post. If you do that, your post has to be deleted too, and you're encouraging the troublemaker.
    • DON'T make extra threads on it. Again, more to be removed/deleted.

Thanks,
SMBF Moderators and Administrators

Yes, I know - my forum is strict. xD

I never take the time to read lengthy rules, so I don't take the time to write them, either. I have only three basic rules...

No Spamming!
No Double-posting!
No Flaming!

I think the FM rules dished out upon registration pretty much cover everything else.

For for my forum, which is about cats... I've taken on a bit more of an informal style then most:
Hello - and welcome to the forum!

A few little do's and don'ts as a general reminder (or as a first, incase this is someones first time on a forum):

No swearing, personal attacks or inappropriate material. This means: Do not post anything (in written form nor pictures) that you would not say/show to your parents/child/boss/teacher... no point is saying your parent/child/boss/teacher is really cool and you can tell/show them anything... you know what I mean!

Take into consideration that people of all ages, from all walks of life might view what's written here.

We reserve the right to change any word or sentences that we deem unsuitable for the forum at any time without any prior notice.

If for some reason (hopefully this will never happen!) people get suspicious that you might not be treating your cats right, you have been rude/nasty to another member of the forum, or you have written inappropriate words/showed inappropriate pictures, then you will be banned.

No spamming allowed.

You must be over 18 to join.... this forum is for adults, whom occasionally will discuss adult related issues (like the odd glass of wine! lol!) in The Cafe part of the forum... If you're under 18, I'm sorry, but please feel free to come back when you've turned 18!

If you got a problem with me or one of the mods (or any which one of the members that were here before you), then you'll be better off going somewhere else.. there are tons of Cat Forums out there. This isn't my forum... it's our forum... and with our I do not just mean me and the mods, but all us members here. We are cyber-family! Anyone is welcome to join in, we're all fun and friendly... and we want to keep it that way!

I don't believe in locking threads... just to inform you... if a thread gets locked, there there is normally nearly always someone else that wants to say something on that particular thread... and they'll just get frustrated that it's not possible.

Nor do I belive in deleting threads... if a thread gets deleted it's either that the original poster of that thead has asked for it to be removed, or there was something unacceptable about it (as in spam, links to illegal sites, etc).

New users who sign up but do not post will probably find their account de-activated.

Do not post anything that is/contains:
  • Adult Content / Obscene Content (this includes links to adult sites and pictures that contain nudity)
  • Harassment
  • Racism/Derogatory/Slanderous
  • Illegal Drugs
  • Terrorism
  • Piracy, Hacking, Viruses
  • Promotion of or distribution of copyrighted materials
  • Links to pirated downloads
  • Malicious software

If you do sign up and want to add a signature and avatar to your profile, please take a look here link removed for the purpose of posting here regarding the guidelines (only readable for members)... thanks!

That's about it... have fun!

No idea.. I know I haven't ever read the bulk of any forums rules, including FMs. But anyone with half a brain that visits forums would know by the topics whether it allows such stuff as porn or not. And not reading something, even though people say that they agree to the terms is no excuse.. lest they shouldn't have agreed to the terms. salut But I also have to admit that I'm not as kind as some of the admins and mods are here.. I don't take away avatars or pm counts... it's 3 strikes you're out.. depending upon the severity of the infraction. It could simply be a single incident and the can of whopa$$ explodes.

Don't get me wrong, I do have a section where I post 'guidelines' for uploading and posting avatars and sigs, images, etc.. but nothing really lengthy that would tend to be yawned through before it's read.

*EDIT
Sorry, I lied.. it's been a year since I've read even my own rules:

Code:
This an open forum for members and guests alike. Please be respectful of the fact that there are visitors and members of all age groups. No posting of any hentai, or excessive foul language will be tolerated. The poster will be given one warning, but if the actions continue, the poster will be banned.

Also.. No Spamming!, No Double-posting!, and No Flaming!

Finally, the forum is not set up as a basic chat room. There are many visitors that come to the forums in search of answers to their many and varied anime and manga questions. So if you wish to simply chat with your friends, please use the private messaging or chatbox set up on the index page, and reserve the forums for postings that relate to the topics.

The Rules for my site are as follows:

The Phantom Foxes Site Rules:

1} When you sign up to join this forum, you MUST supply a genuine email address to receive your account activated email.

your forum rules - Page 2 Empty Re: your forum rules

Post by ~Chris January 23rd 2009, 3:04 am

Updated my forum Rules:

Below you will find a list of the rules that we set for this forum. Any breach of these rules will be punished.
Guests; If you are considering joining the forum, please read the following rules.
Members; It is highly recommended that you read these rules before you start to post. If you haven't read the rules, you may accidentally break a rule without realizing it. Whereas if you have read the rules, you will know what you can and cannot do, so the chances of there being a misunderstanding decreases greatly.

Rules:

#1:
Do not spam/flood the forum. Spamming, aka useless posting that just takes up time and space, is not allowed. Before you hit the 'send' button, ask yourself if it is really worth posting. Remember; Its not about the amount of posts you have that counts, its the quality of what is in your posts.

#2
Do not double post. Posting twice in a row (unless separated by a twelve hour gap), is not allowed. If you have posted, and then realize you have made a spelling error, or need do add something to your post, please use the edit button. If you accidentally post the same message twice in a row, please delete one of your posts.

#3
No abuse. We understand that people may have disagreements from time to time, and we know that some people express their opinion strongly, and that's fine. However, when it gets to the stage that all that is being posted is nothing but abuse, this will ensure a ban.

#4
No Racism. We are very strict on this rule. People from different countries have access to this forum, so do not post any racist remarks whatsoever. Offenders will be banned permanently on the very first sighting.

#5
No disrespecting staff members. Remember, they are not machines, they are human too! And at the end of the day the day, they are only trying to make this forum a better place.

#6
Please refrain from SMS talk. While the occasional 'u' or 'r' is allowed, please try to not use SMS talk as much as you can. Please try and capitalize your posts properly and use correct grammar when needed.

Okay post:
Hey, are you skating tonight?

Bad post:
ey u sk8in 2nite

#7
No spam advertising.Spamming through PM, your signature, or your avatar is strictly prohibited. PM's (Private Messages) are completely private, however, ideally, an honest member (also known as a good member), will report the PM to a staff member, and the situation will be dealt with.

#8
Use the search bar. Before posting a new topic, please search, and make sure the topic doesn't already exist. Multiple topics just take up time and space. You will be warned if caught.

#9
No Pornography. This one is very self-explanatory. There is a time and a place for pornography, and believe it or not, it is not on a public message forum, well, at least not on this forum.

#10
No offensive material. Please do not post any material that may be considered offensive to others. Remember, if you wouldn't like to read it, please to not post it on the forum.

#11
Be polite when asking something. Always try and sound polite and approach the situation professionally when you are asking something.

Avatar Rules:
Your avatar may not contain any pornography, or offensive material. You
cannot put anything in your avatar that you would not put up on the
forum. Your avatar may not be larger than 130 x 130 pixels.

BANS:
5 Day Ban
30 Day Ban
Permanent Ban
Above are the bans that you may receive, if you violate any of these rules,
considering on the seriousness, you may receive any of them.

General User Information & Advice.
1. When posting, make sure it is in the correct forum, and has appropriate detail, and content.
2. When replying, think of an appropriate response and don't respond because you can, respond when you have something worth saying. Make sure everything is readable and makes sense before clicking the send
button.
3. Read all sticky and announcement topics, they usually have important information in them.
4. If you find yourself in a unfavorable situation whereby you or another
has broken the rules, leave your posts alone and do not edit them, report the topic through the report button in the post frame. This will alert the moderating team.
5. Do not diffuse situations yourselves, report the problem, and let our staff handle them.
6. Treat people how you would like to be treated.
7. When posting, be polite, a polite post will get more results, especially when you are requesting something.

Should you have any questions about the rules, please send me a PM, or, post your question in the Help & Feedback forum.

Thank you.

I've updated my rules too

<div align="center">Official Rules and Policies of Xtreme Planet<br />Please read this entire thread</div><br /><strong>General Rules<br /></strong><br /><strong>1. No Flaming<br /></strong>Anything that is said or done to insult another member is considered flaming. All members must be treated fairly. If you don't like a person, then don't say anything to them.<br /><br /><strong>2. No Unsolicited Advertising<br /></strong>Please do not advertise in Xtreme Planet! If you do it anywhere except Site Promotion you'll be warned<br /><br /><strong>3. No Discrimination<br /></strong>This is similar to flaming, but is not aimed at a particular person or social group, but towards an entire race, religion, gender, sexual orientation ect. Discrimination is a serious offense.<br /><br /><strong>4. No Illegal Discussions<br /></strong>Quite simply, no discussion about illegal materials. No posting of pornographic images or linking to sites which have pornographic images on them. Asking for or offering illegal downloads is also not allowed.<br /><br /><strong>5. No Hacking<br /></strong>This includes hacking or threatening to hack the forums or administrative areas. This also includes hacking or threatening to hack other users over the forums.<br /><br /><strong>6. No Harassment<br /></strong>This includes all forms of harassment. Things like stalking a user, repeatedly asking for pictures, phone numbers, MSN addresses. Sexual harassment can also include sending unwanted sexual pictures via PM to a user, or dirty talking to a member when they are uncomfortable with it.<br /><br /><strong>7. No Impersonation<br /></strong>Do not pretend to be someone you are not. Do not sign up with names that would make people think you were an administrator. Do not use other peoples accounts or let other people use your account.<br /><br /><strong>8. No Plagiarism<br /></strong>Do not steal other people's works and post them on this forum as your own. If you use something that someone else made, please give that person credit for it.<br /><br /><strong>9. Do Not Argue With Staff<br /></strong>If you don't like something a staff member has said, use the PM system or a messenger to talk to them about it. If you still think they are in the wrong, speak to a director about it via PM or on a messenger. Do not argue with staff on the forums and don't use the old "I don't have to listen to you" line.<br /><br /><strong>10. Keep All Content At A PG-13 Level<br /></strong>Xtreme Planet is a forum with members of all ages. Due to having younger members on the forum, we have a rule that anything you post on the site must be PG-13 friendly. The exception to this rule is if you are maturely talking about a sexual or bodily function and there is a reason behind the discussion. If you are just pointlessly and/or immaturely talking about inappropriate things you will be punished.<br /><br /><br /><strong>Chatbox Rules<br /></strong><br /><br /><strong>Please note that all general rules also apply<br /></strong><br /><strong>1. Don't Spam The Chatbox<br /></strong>The Chatbox is for talking to other members in a relaxed way. Don't make more than 10 shouts in a row. If you are just flooding the Chatbox then you will be asked to stop it!<br /><br /><strong>2. Don't Stretch The Chatbox<br /></strong>Don't post words longer than 50 characters in length. "xDDDDDDDDDD!" is alright, but posting Ahhhhhhhh with heaps of h's just stretches the chatbox and the page.<br /><br /><strong>3. Don't Post Large Images<br /></strong>It's alright to use smilies and icons, but don't post massive pictures in the Chatbox that will stretch it. As you all know, forum codes work in the Chatbox (image, youtube ect). The spoiler tags also work, so put those big images in the spoiler tags.<br /><br /><strong>Posting Rules<br /></strong><br /><br /><strong>Please note that all general rules also apply<br /></strong><br /><strong>1. Post Threads In Correct Forum<br /></strong>If you post a thread in the incorrect forum it will be moved by a member of staff. If you are constantly posting threads in the wrong area, you may be warned or infracted.<br /><br /><strong>2. Stay On Topic<br /></strong>Do not move too far from the topic of the thread. If you want to talk about something different, by all means, create a separate thread.<br /><br /><strong>3. Don't post SPAM</strong><br />Posts containing only an image or only a smiley are not acceptable. Posts should be at least 2 words long, unless the thread topic is something like "Post Your Favorite Word" or "Post The Time". In these threads, a one word post is alright.<br /><br /><strong>Avatar, Profile Picture And Signature Rules<br /></strong><br /><br /><strong>Please note that all general rules also apply<br /></strong><br /><strong>1. Keep Content Appropriate<br /></strong>All avatars, signatures and profile pictures must be within the rules of the site (no pornography ect).<br /><br /><strong>2. These are mine from the Eastern European Celebrity Forum.

This forum is for anyone who is a fan of Eastern Europe and its celebrities and to promote the region.

These are some rules you have to follow.

Do not offend anyone racially, sexually or anything that breaches the person's rights. If you do you will be warned and you will be banned depending on how serious it is.

Swearing is allowed but as long as they are not directed to any member here.

No flaming or trolling is allowed and the person will be banned if it keeps happening by the same person.

This forum will ESPECIALLY not allow any negative political talk. If any talk which is meant to do any harm to somebody, the person will be banned depending on how serious the incident is. If it is really bad, the IP will be blocked of the user. If somebody sees a political comment that is offensive and is not intentionally meant to be offensive, PM me to resolve the problem.

Also no hoaxers are allowed here. That's if somebody poses as a celebrity or related and claims it's them to wind people up.

If any fraud or identity scams is reported here that is linked to a member here, the person involved will be banned with the IP address blocked.

Try to stick to English as the language here, if not at least 50% so people can understand what you are saying. A foreign word used in the English language does not count towards this.

Pornographic or virus ridden material is not allowed here. If somebody posts this, they will be banned with the accounts deleted.

No spam (posting stuff that has nothing to do with this forum and some of the stuff can be deemed illegal if no licence is obtained e.g prescription drugs). If somebody posts this, they will be banned with the accounts deleted.

If somebody posts material stolen from elsewhere and claims that it is theirs, they will be dealt with seriously especially if it is a picture from press related sites. Some owners of sites and copyright proprietors lurk in open forums and can report such incidents and can take legal action if required if they see something like this.

If you want more information about this, PM me to know more.

Hope you enjoy your stay here.

1 - SPAM is NOT allowed.
The definition of SPAM is clear on its own: Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. As such, any kind of content that deviates from the core topic or doesn't contribute in any way to the discussion is prohibited.

2 - No Swearing.
Everything can be expressed without relying on bad language, so don't use it.
Attempts to avoid the filter are also equally punished.

3 - Double-Posting is prohibited.
With the exception of legitimately bumping up an old topic or posting in the Fan Fictions area, double-posting (and any more radical variations) are forbidden. If you've got something to add, use the EDIT button.

4 - Bumping Threads.
You are only allowed to bump threads up (resorting to double-post is included) that don't go over 1 month period. Anything you may eventually dare to bump from that limit upwards is probably already outdated, so it's always better to create a new thread to restart discussion.

5 - Don't Advertise.
Advertising is not permitted on the forum, either forums or affiliate marketing. This include schemes to acquire free electronics and other items through referrals. If you are an established member, and wish to make a thread about it, then that is usually find but check with a member of staff first.

6 - Disciplinary action is NOT general discussion.
Any kind of disciplinary procedure taken by the Staff should not be argued or discussed to avoid trouble. Such kind of topics will be locked.

7 - Thread tags MUST be relevant.
This means any kind of tags attached to a thread must be appropriate and relate/be related to the actual core topic in discussion.

8 - Sock Puppetry is NOT allowed.
Creating double-accounts is prohibited unless it's used in extreme cases, such as main account problems, in which case the user MUST contact one member of the Staff to inform of such occasion.

--

Failure to abide by these rules will give every right for the Staff to proceed to disciplinary action (warning or ban) on its own judgment without previous consent.
