Banned Rank

Post by Guest on August 23rd 2008, 12:01 pm

Why have the Admins stopped awarding the banned rank to members. I mean, when I was banned, I had to wear it, why don't others?

We still use it Twisted Evil

It's just that we don't "award" it in every case.
A member who'se banned for dumb reasons is left alone. A member who received a serious warning, was banned for serious issues or other, they get the rank Wink

OK. But I guess what I did (Freedom of Speech) meant I had to wear it.

I don't actually want to discuss my ban. We resolved that issue, didn't we Caihlem?

The issue regarding your ban wasn't freedom of speech but defiance to the Admin - me. Your rank however was more of a symbol to stop others from following.
And yes, it's been resolved, hence your unban Wink

I'd rather not put the rank on every single member that gets banned though ^_^"

OK. I can see where you are coming from regarding this. If you don't want it, cos you're the one who has to manage the ranks, then lock the suggestion.

scamite. but that is the whole purpose of the suggestion section... to list and discuss our suggestions without anyone saying NO WAY ARE WE DOING THIS. i would like to see this rank implemented on all of the banned members.

I vote yes. I've seen many a time when a staff member bans a user but the rank isn't there. It gets confusing sometimes.

This would help in the graphics forum aswell, sometimes members are banned and we have no way of checking..

actually there is a problem with this... see when an admin bans someone they can easily add the rank...
but when mods ban then all we can really do is report it in the super secret admin section that Nessa made un-super-secret a month or so back ...

I don't really see the use for this... banned is banned, image or not

This would help in the graphics forum aswell, sometimes members are banned and we have no way of checking..
thats why the graphics staff have mod powers... to check beforehand

maybe you should ask for an automatic ban image?

instead of an admin, checking the banned people forum, going to their profiles, clicking the link and changing their rank to banned maybe we need an automatic system.

if a mod or admin clicks the all important ban button , the forum automatically reads the image and automatically adds it to the profile.

I think thats a better thought, rather than reminding caihlem to change the rank every time

Nice idea

That would be better then going into their Porfie and making it banned

I think there's a simple solution to this without using an image you can just make the member letters red like this

Forumotion Member

anyway it's a reasonable question
