Co-founder Group Empty Co-founder Group

Post by Xanthis August 2nd 2011, 3:57 am

My suggestion is simple, allow administrators to promote users to a co-founder position. Co-founders would have equal rights to the founder, the only difference being that co-founders could be optionally added and/or removed. Thoughts?

Update 1: The group would be limited to one user for security reasons, and would be unable to delete or demote the founder.

Founders don't really have much else to offer that a regular administrator cannot, besides from being incapable of being removed by other admins or deleting the forum.

I vote yes, but I think you should only be allowed one co-founder for security reasons. I also think that the account should have all the same abilities as the regular founder, except it can't edit the original founder profile.

Regular admins cannot apply a theme, access templates, edit ads and domain, etc. :|

I vote yes.

Co-founder Group Empty Re: Co-founder Group

I support this proposal! :wouhou:
Sadly, sometimes founders are not as regular as they should be, and admins may need access to features that are exclusive to founders. I also agree there must be only one co-founder, who would have no rights to edit or delete the founder's account.

This would be fantastic for the credits use, for custom domains, template use and, of course, customisation. And the co-founder feature would save the Forumotion staff from requests for founder changes, mainly when members don't want the founder's posts to be either deleted or exchanged.

banana I support this idea!! Very good

Voted yes. Great suggestion. I would imagine it wouldn't be too hard for FM to implement this.

Since I didn't want the username admin, I made myself a personal admin account. It would be nice to have founders access with my own name.

I voted no, since the Administration group has that. It somewhat limits the access to the Admin Panel. But maybe add more security to that? But hey, you can always have a Rank Image to show who's the Co-Admin.

Hello,

Similar suggestion exists here:

We'll continue the suggestion on that topic. Wink
