install or not install new updates

Post by RCMZ on September 17th 2008, 9:37 pm

i think it would be better if we had the choice to install the updates or not install the updates rather than them just being thrown onto our forums and screwing things up. that way, if we dont like the new updates or wont use them, than we wont have them there and have to worry about things being messed up and waiting on the bugs to be fixed.

it wouldnt be impossible. alittle more coding and than we all have a new option in the admin panel to either install the new updates or not install t hem. from a list ofcourse. im not saying download than install.. im basically saying, you click it than the updates will appear, or u dont and the setup stays the same.

i wonder how many times they were told a cell phone would be impossible to use all over the world registered in 1 location. nothing is impossible

than u install that.

the updates would be in a list.

example: (ofcourse im making these up for the example)

cash mod
moderator panel
itrader
topic colors

than that would be in the list, like the current ones added, which is like 5 or 6, each one would be in the list, than you can click on which ones u want to install onto your forum out of the updates list. as more updates are done, they would just be added into t he last of the updates list.

i think you didn't understand what the dude above said
let me explain

suppose on 1 May there is a Update, - "ABC" which you don't like and don't install it

then on may 10 a update comes "DEF" you just like it and want to have it but hey you can't because to Install DEF you need ABC

so basically there is no meaning to this argument what you suggest isn't good

pardon me I'm just giving my thoughts on it and i also think that even if this isn't good or anything you can make any other suggestion
so i say don't hang ot his cause no one likes it!! Sorry but thats a fact!

you can always give more suggestions so goodluck and please don't post more !

you may see it as nonsense, but i dont, im tired of my forum getting screwed up and taking weeks to get fixed over some stupid updates that i will never use and im sure over half of the people wont use. just like the most recent updates. none of them are even anything to even check out. the only thing that is even worth a look at is the contact form, which i have already made myself awhile ago and does the exact same thing as what they put on my admin panel.

what are you talkin about? you confused yourself. if u wanted def and not abc, than ud install def and not abc, t hey would be 2 different installed.. no any install of 1 update needs another update for it to work.

I'd rather see a rep system added or a cash mod added before this junk.

dont we all, theyve only been suggested for like over a year now. and i made a suggestion not a topic to flame in. i have enough members to keep members, and the site being all screwed up, doesnt look good, if we had this choice or option before, nothing would of been put on my forum from the updates and would be working just fine.

first of all pardon me but its crap
second you still didn't understood what i said
to install DEF above there's a prerequisite ABC! Got that!
Please don't waste others time and stop this all , why don't you understand this is just wastefull , no meaning

if you still insist , i would have to report it, sorry but thats the way it is!

No

Absolutely not!!!!!! If you choose not to install new updates, how about the next one? or others? and how can the techs help you? and left your forum still in trouble of bugs? updates is always useful and essential for forums
