'must agree or not pass' thing [suggestion]

Post by Darren1 on November 29th 2008, 8:09 am

First topic message reminder :

I was thinking that forumotion could make something like a "cannot pass untill blah blah" like it is below.

It would come in handy as a one off type of thing so that ur members are aware of something special or changes to a particular point.

P.S. please disregard the Dominos Pizza Australia theme, its from our work forum, and its the only one i can scratch up Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Sad Sad

Opinions??

Initially, my thought on this is no. Like others, I find this kind of requirement really frustrating.

What topic is really so important that you need this? I love the thought of being able to have as many bells and whistles we can, but then it takes away time for others that may have more use for more forums.

Suppose this is a bump....

Metina, I see your point, however this really isnt a "whistle and bells" thing.
Its more of a safety thing.

But thank you for voting Very Happy

I voted yes.

I can think of instances where this could be handy. As in no member can say " where is that rule" or " I do not remember reading that". I am all for safety and this is in place I know for a fact a lot of my clan mates or registered users will love the idea.

My suggestion is something like a thing that states that you cannot pass this point untill uv read "blah blah" and ticked the box which than saves and lets you move into that post.

So when you're first registering on a forum and the forums rules and policies shows, that button comes up telling you to read the entire thing if you want to grant access to the next stage, and then once you reach the last part of the rules and terms of service letter, the button then becomes active for you to click?

Yes, that is correct.

But I was thinking that the button would always be there, and able to be clicked, and the admin(s) can chose what is important enough to use this on.

So it would be a option to make "important" things "important" again Cool
