PM Block List

Post by Heals on December 14th 2008, 3:38 am

Well, in my time here at forumotion, I've noticed that Unwanted PM's is a problem. (As Jalokim suggested in another topic.)

Anyway, I would like to suggest, that if a member does not wish to be contacted via PM from a certain member, There could be an option that says something like 'Add to PM Block List'. This will disable this member to be able to Private Message this person.

I just figured it would be easier than having to tell an Administrator or a Moderator about it and have to show them a Screen Shot of the PM, so the mod can then contact the offender and tell them not to happen again.

I think if this feature was installed, it would be wise to make it so that administrators and moderators cannot be added to the Block list.

Voted no, is already on forumotion forums.

This has already been done, its called "friends or foes" its on the forum and the PM box.

I think It hasn't been enabled here at the support forum, because the staff need to be able to contact everyone, so it would be Hindrance rather than help here at the support forum.

I voted yes. Sounds easy and effective. And it would probably be less work then report PM button too.

I dont like you. Block. And problem is gone. Like MSN blocking.

Thumb up Heals.

Well I beleive this is already on Forumotion forums. All you have to do is go into the Administration panel and you enable the option called 'Friends and Foes' management and it will appear in your profile where you can block any member of the forum that you wish to not contact you via PM (Except for staff).

Correct, and if you do block them, they just go around the block and you still receive it.
"Friends and Foes" management is already build and currently active, and is exactly what your talking about.

In mind was any user could use this, without having to have administration permission.
