Moderator Roles

First topic message reminder :

I think we should have moderator permission roles that we can set global moderators ban users but not general moderators

I am suggesting something like this

EDIT: The ideas i am suggesting that will be available in group modification are:

~ Can delete posts
~ Can edit posts
~ Can close and delete reports
~ Can manage bans ( including ban and unban )
~ Can lock topics
~ Can merge topics
~ Can split topics
~ can move topics
~ can delete topics
~ can send topics to the garbage
~ Can change credits of users
~ Can ban usernames and ips
~ Can see hidden users
~ Can view IP Addresses
~ Can modify profiles
~ Can change user ranks

These can be done by using Forum Permissions and you have not stated anything that isn't possible.

Well, you misunderstood me I think.. I meant an ability to turn off and on those stuff for groups (like "Global Moderator" can modify profiles, ban members, etc.. but the normal moderator can't do that..) get me?

No, you can't. You can't choose in group permissions "Can lock topics" etc..

This would be good. Modifying what a certain moderator / group of the moderator can do, especially in my case, wherein I may assign a trusted student to compile assignment (posts) in one topic, but not given the right to view ACP or what.

Sorry to be the negative one here, but I vote no.

Sinply becuase I feel if one cant be trusted to use all moderative tools apprioratelly and responsibly and can not responibly handle having the ability to ban a user, then they shouldnt be a moderator. I feel if you make someone a moderator, you should be sure you can trust them enough with all the tools to do the job, without having restrict tools and if you cant trust them enough to trust them with all tools and abilites, they shouldnt be a moderator.

Sorry guys, just my honest opinion as an admin as well as a moderator.
