Categories and Forums issues
I am having a couple of issues with my categories and forums. If I am not posting this in the correct place would someone please tell me.
First issue:
Within my categories, there appears to be no separation between my forums. They just appear to run one right into another.
(I can provide screenshots, if necessary.)
Second issue:
If you click on the category title, then you can read the forums. But if you click on the forum titles, they disappear.
I don't know what to do. Please advise.
My forum address is http://simplysplendidsigs.forumotion.com/
Thank you in advance.
Lynn

Re: Categories and Forums issues
For the first issue:
go to Display>structure and hierarchy>Split categories on index.
I think either none or med. would show all the forums underneath
I don't think i follow you on the second issue. maybe when you get the indexing taken care of, it will fix that as well.

Thank you that did help some. Let me get some screen shots and maybe that will make more sense.
Be back soon.
Thanks for your help.

N/A
It made sense to me...
I think this is what Lynn's trying to say:
On the Index Page and categories, it doesn't show the title of the forum you're on. But if you click on one of the forums, it will show somewhere at the top:
[INDEX PAGE] > [CATEGORY] > [FORUM]
...Or something like that. You can click on one of the links to go to another page.
I think the problem is Lynn wants it to show the links shown above, in the categories instead of just the forums. If that was still confusing, try this...
1. Go on the forum.
2. Click on a link to a forum.
3. You should see somewhere near the top it shows which forums/categories you clicked on to get to the forum you're on now.
4. If the link brought you to a forum and not a category, you should be able to click on a link at the top. If you click on the 2nd link, it will take you to a category (IF the link brought you to a forum.) If you look, the links are gone!
If you didn't get that then I dunno... but I'm also having the same problems on .my forum

Re: Categories and Forums issues
Hi and thank you everyone.
Oh, I am so very embarrassed (sp?), but the little light came on in my peabrain last night and I figured out what I was doing wrong!
I humbly will tell you....
It's pretty simple, now that I have it figured out. Anyway, long story short:
I needed to make my forums into topics.
Now it looks right to me.
I have my site flagged "under construction" while I get everything fixed.
I'm sorry I took up everyone's time.
Big hugs and thanks,
Lynn

Since this problem appears to be resolved, I will lock this topic now.
