Flood Control

Post by RikaComet on February 4th 2009, 3:49 pm

I'm suggesting a control on how many post a member can post in 24 hours ..
due to recent occurance of spammers ... this has become a necessity

This should allow a Admin to set how many post one single member or all members can post in next 24 hours~

voted yes, would be really handy to limit how many posts certain members can post in any given time. Especially as you say with recent events here.

I'm the only one to vote no xD I vote no because I believe that spam is not a problem for me, at all. Also, I have some high posting members and it would become very dissapointing for them to be only allowed to post a certain ammount.

This would be optional and would not have to affect your regular posters.

To stop the occurance of the maximun of spam most forum gets, why not simply implement a feature which allows us to delete all posted posts by a particular spammer in just 1 click of a button? That way, a good posting member can make as many posts as they want, and if it's a spammer, we can simply out-do them with the ability to delete all posts by a spammer at once.

i bet a lot of ppl would get pissed off (sorry for the language) by this feature...
a very active member... or even a mod... suddenly can post anything anymore... just of this..
and i dont think posting much is a bad thing... just means that ppl are very active... and not necessarily are spamming

Having an option to apply this to Private Messages too would be great.

It would be great if we could apply flood control only to selected categories or sub-categories but not globally, as in my case spammers tent to write only in specific topics. Hello
