Moderation during posting
Moderation options during posting
I think admins and mods will know this problem...
You see a thread that needs to be moderated... so you comment... press send... then you wait for the thread to return after that you scroll down to lock or move the thread.
Why not have all of that at once?
A little moderation box under the posting area. Mods and admins will be able to chose an action after they post.
So for example a mod replies to a badly placed posts then in a drop down menu under the posting area he/she chooses :
after posting move thread...
or
after posting lock thread.
or
after posting garbage thread
that way after pressing send the post automatically gets locked or you are redirected to the move screen.
I think this could be quite useful... especially for admins and mods.
Ideas, comments?

template editing can't possibly add it... right?? right!
Re: Moderation options during posting
I love this idea
This is a good idea for Caihlem as he ALWAYS forgets to lock the topic once he's moderated .

Copy the code for the Moderating drop down box right into the post edit template. And still only mods will see the drop down box.

You and you smarty pants template editing...
I will get my revenge one day... you will see...
I shall laugh in the face of the dragon master as his beast is slain ... if thats even how you say it.
Nonetheless ... for our non phpbb2 clients I still think this is a smart tool that will speed up moderation time and just maybe the staff will have more time for... eh ... well for example ... giving support ?

Re: Moderation options during posting
Well Jalo me and kilsek talked about it and the copy/paste code wouldnt work, because you couldnt program it to preform the action when you pressed the "send" button.
So great Idea!

I don't need template edit. I can simply use some javascript.
Take a look at my new footer (using phpbb3)

15 seconds chris ... for 1 post ...
I go through a lot of posts a day... and many need moderation ... so that can save me up to 15 minutes a day...
i'd like to thank you for the screen shot... that gonna make understanding this greater.

Re: Moderation options during posting
Fantastic Idea. But I think that there should checkboxes instead. This way multiple actions can be selected, such as lock and move.
Underneath the part that says "Announcement, Sticky, Normal" should be:
Voted Yes.
Underneath the part that says "Announcement, Sticky, Normal" should be:
Then when "move", "split", or "merge" is selected, a drop down box (or a pop-up window) appears with further options.Lock [ ] Move [ ] Split [ ] Delete [ ] Merge [ ] Basket [ ]
Voted Yes.
