Thank-You button

Post by Guest on March 7th 2009, 9:56 pm

Ok, I know this has been requested in the section for our forums but I also think it should be requested here especially as we're a support forum.
I think we should enable a button for each user that you press on to say thank-you for helping out in the thread. It shows under there username and shows how useful they are Cool I thought this would be especially useful in the help sections Very good

What do you guys think?

I don't see the use of this feature on the support forum

In what sense will it provide more support? Dawa

Flags are very useful clown

See an irish flag, you know you need to talk simple
See a french flag, you know you don't need to answer
See an american flag, you know no matter how hard you try they won't understand
See an english flag, you know you've got someone who probably knows the answer and is just checking to see if you know it tongue

I really don't "get" why anyone needs a Thanks button.
Oh wait....I'm American so I am a dumbass !
Guess this dumbass will just shut up then.

What about me?
What do you do when you see an Australian flag?

Back on topic.

A "thank you" button would be useful here, in the instance that a member of staff locks a topic, BEFORE someone can say "thank you for helping me out [user]"
However, I really dont see how this would help someone.

I see it as a more "rings and bell" feature, because it would encourage people to provide "support" that is not "true support" for the "warm and fuzzy" feeling.

You know where im going?

Right now, I really do not know what to vote, so I will leave it be for a little while. Wink

I don't really see the point for this option. You could just say Thank You! Not hard to write. The Support Forum need something that will help the forum and its members. This will help the members but not the forum.

Vote No!

I also voted no since as some members already said above there is no real need for it because it wouldn't help in anyway to provide more support.

Darren1's convinced me to change my vote from a No to a "Interesting" tongue

I voted no.

You are helping others because you WANT to help, not to gain "thanks" in your profile.

Darren1's convinced me to change my vote from a No to a "Interesting" tongue
W O W
I succeeded in something, i didn't even think about....
Thats how im gonna do things from now on - go about things mindlessly, and get banned Very Happy Razz

(Note to self, Don't do that idea, you will get banned)
Someone better not egg me on, or ill end up doing it tongue

Iv decided to vote a No on this, puerly because there is no real use of this.
Don't get me wrong, having a "Thank you" button on someone's profile, would be nice and all, but it would encourage a member to "spam help" people, and five false / misleading information to get such a useless praise.

NB. the praise is "Useless" because they have only helped them to get the praise and look "Good"

The fellow members (incl. staff) of this forum all have said the vast majority of the reason, that I find satisfactory to ponder a vote on the "no" button.

=>No.

Caihlem & pogo, i hope this didn't hit you where it hurts.

Ill plug in my vote
